The food was delicious. We went two times and tried different types of ramen (so far the one with seafood and the spicy one with pork are my favorites). We only tried one type of sushi which was delicious as well.
The service could be better - the second time we went there, the waiter was quite rude in telling us to change the table (the terrace was empty and there were no reservation marks on tables) and remained rude throughout our dinner.

MINDBLOWING! I have just paid a visit to Kanpai, and EVERYTHING was absolutely impressive and delicious. The shrimp miso had the tastiest shrimps that I've ever had in a Japanese soup, and the Kanpai Tiger Shrimps with truffles were simply a masterpiece in terms of taste. I loved absolutely everything! Even the mocchi dessert, which is usually boring and tasteless, was amazing. Totally recommend!
The lunch menu is also delicious and affordable.

Kanpai is an excellent sushi restaurant in a posh area of Bucharest. Whatever you choose from the menu, you simply can't go wrong. We highly recommend the spicy salmon and the futomaki tuna. The varieties with Philadephia cheese are also a nice touch and provide a great tasting experience. The rice-based desserts are excellent, as is the black sesame icecream. On the downside, the sake isn't all that good. We also enjoyed the music and the service - the staff has been very friendly and helpful.

Japanese food should not be this bland and uninspired. The sauces in the dish tasted as if they came right out of a bottle. The only thing we enjoyed was the tempura ice cream.
The serving was pretty bad as well, the waiters were fine but it took them forever to serve us even if we put our hand up. Also, our dishes came 15 minutes apart from each other. Overall, not a great experience and I wouldn't recommend it.
The prices are not high at all so that's a plus I guess...

Sorry that our food was not close to your standard!
Regarding to the fact that “dishes came 15 minute apart from each other” .. As we mentioned in the menu in the Izakaya restaurant the dishes coming when are ready .. We have 2 kitchen and that’s the idea in that kind of restaurant!

By far the worst dining experience in Bucharest. First they messed up the order, the soup arrived cold and greasy, then the shrimp miso (it only had 1 scrimp...) was so spicy I could barely have a few sips. In addition staff was rude.

I love japanese cuisine and i think this is one of the best japanese restaurant in town. I LOVE the seafood ramen, I come here every 2 or 3 weeks for it. Sushi is great too, but even better is the salmon yakisoba.

I love this restaurant!
The food is great and staff is friendly. It has the best soups I’ve had in Bucharest so far. The sushi and tempura Udon are my faves.
Only drawback is that it’s a small place and when it’s crowded it feels a bit stuffy.

Love this place!!!
Ramen is the absolute best ive had anywhere ever here or abroad.
My fav is tantan ramen but everything i had here was top tier.
Always a pleasure to come back.

Hands down the best sushi I ve had in Bucharest and elsewhere. The place is lively too, a cross between a bar and proper restaurant, cosy amd relaxed. I’m ve also tried their tartars and loved them. I would definitely return to this place over andvover again. Good job!

Best ramen ever! Everything you chose from the menu actually is great. The prices are not high, we paid for 1 ramen and 5 pieces of gyoza 18 eur.

Good food, good service. Unfortunately, it is on a small backstreet and not so visible, but Google Maps will take you there

we were heading to another restaurant which was closed so hunger pushed us to enter to KanPai and we do not regret it at all. service was super fast we waited maximum 6-10 min. the food was very tasty and we had a lot of fun fooling around with the sticks for the food : dont worry they have forks, also. totally recommend it and the prices were super ik.
