I've visited Waterloo twice so far after it was reopened. They refurbished the place and it looks amazing, cosy and still with the touch of vintage Belgian restaurant (taverne). The people working there are very nice and friendly and make the customers feel at home. They also had a concert when I first went there, a band playing lovely background music. The food is delicious, very tasty ingredients and the drinks menu is very diverse - the rockstar is the Belgian beer of course, but they also have really good wines, various alcoholic beverages and even a good range of digestive drinks, which is not very common in Bucharest.

Terrible water sprinklers, couldn’t eat, couldn’t breathe! 42 degrees outdoors and no A/C on in order to sit inside…

The food is very good. I highly reccomend the pork ribs with beer sauce & the pork knuckle…absoultely amazing! They service is ok, if you are lucky to benon her shift, there s a very very nice lady there, the gentlemen are ok-ish… sometimes a bit rude. During summer time it was impossible for us to eat there, because they have this water sprinklers which are terrible… that water comes in contact with your drinks and your food… and sometimes it takes your breath away. Personally, I couldn’t risk the second time. Inside, there was no A/C on, at 42 degrees celsius, and the waiter didn’t want to accommodate us inside, he forced us to stay outdoors! They are saving money, but common, it’s not a cheap restaurant at all!!! We will have to wait for that disgusting terrace to close, or for the sprinklers to be removed, in order to eat there again. I cannot risk getting some bacteria from that water, plus like I said… no everyone tollerates that strong water spraing in their face, I couldn’t breathe!!! They should have an option, at least to turn it lower or off in some areas! I felt horrible, you should try to accomodate everyone, and get rid of the rude waiters. Other than that, it a nice place!

We had such a great meal at this restaurant. I would say that the menu contains a wide variety of special plates. We had a bean soup and an onion soup and they were soooooo delicious! 🤤 We also tried the fondue which was amazing, and we finished with the plum dumplings and the coffee cake. The serving was very nice and welcoming! A big 10 for this place!

Everything was perfect except the mussels - super super low quality. Sorry to say but they were a bit disgusting. It’s not my first visit here and not my second… everything else ok- staff super polite and service super fast. …but the mussels - you need to absolutely avoid them

The food is pretty urban + some sea food. The atmosphere is very nice; chill or jazzy music. Nice Belgian beers. It is worth a try!

A cozy restaurant, serving Belgian food and having a super friendly staff. The food was really good, but the desserts were the highlight! That Belgian chocolate in the chocolate cake with orange and the chocolate mousse in the crepes was fantastic! Will surely return!

wonderful dinner

When we arrived (Friday evening, around 8) the restaurant and the terrace were empty. We were a bit afraid but, for the sake of good old times (we visited Waterloo 15 years ago), we decided to give it a try. And the experience was very pleasant. The waiter was very kind, polite and suggested the best options for us. The wine was good and not expensive at all. Food was excellent (maybe it was too much:). We ate muslims, duck and pancakes with cheese. The desert was excellent (waffles with chocolate and chocolate cake with oranges). The atmosphere was very cosy, with excellent background music. We will definitely come back!

Beer tavern

Such an intimate place, a small tavern where you can find a lots of type of beer from brune, blonde beer to fruity beer and warm beer. The food it’s great and fits with the dishes. The staff is welcoming. The tavern is vey nice decorated.

Great comfort food

I wasn't expecting much but I was really, really happy with the food. I had a terrible cold which stopped me from being able to smell ingredients properly but everything I ate was very tasty. I tried the stuffed crepes, the mashed potatoes, beef in gravy, dessert (chocolate cake), onion soup and I really wanted to eat more. Honest, comfort food that will definitely bring me back again.

For beer lovers

Belgian taverne with many dishes made with beer. Large assortment of belgian beers in the menu. Parking places are a bit hard to find. Onion cream soup very good. Pepper cream soup very good also. Carbonnade flamande, beef boiled in dark beer was ok. A new taste for us. The dish didn't looked very good. Chicken with Duvel beer and mushrooms wasn't so good. They putted to much beer in it. Serving was very attentive, the owner served us. We will come back to try all you can eat mussels or ribs, 44 RON.

Great Belgian food, great Belgian beer and great service, you can't really go wrong with this place. A tad spicier on the prices than your regular run of the mill spot, but with good reason, Waterloo just needs a bit of a promotional kick to give it a bit of extra life. PS: they've got a terrace open in summer as well, with great conditions.

Excellent place for dinner and I got good deals for lunch

I love this place... whenever I have a good event or a special ocasion I come here. They have this wonderfull atmosphere in summer on the terasse that I bike to their place and enjoy lovely raspberry beers. The food was always very good, they have some stuff for vegetarians too but a lot of meat. I think the portions are ok, I just love the shrimp and nicoise salad, the crepes are very nice and the beers.. OMG so many, from light ones like my raspberry one to some that have around 11% . The waiters are nice and helpful...ok sometimes they are a bit too busy so service goes a bit slower.. The menus are in English and i think they had French too last time I checked . If you are more you can fondue and it is so much fun. The food is not cheap but not very expensive, however the beers are around 10-15 lei per bottle on average, Overall if you like good food and don't mind paying a little extra for the beers this is the perfect place. I bring all my foreign family here and they loved it and I never had a bad experience with them since 2010 when I discovered them.
