Unfortunately we can't visit a restaurant in Bucharest at this moment. The second best thing to do is to order food and let it be delivered to your home. We did this in the past weeks several times. Knowing The Artist we had high expectations. And these were fulfilled. Making a choice from the menu is not easy. All dishes look promising and have challenging combinations. After the order is placed we waited around 30-40 minutes and the food arrived by Uber Eats. The food is packed in environmental friendly material and plastic is as much as possible avoided. Bravo! If people are afraid for contamination, don't worry. The bags are well closed in the kitchen before transport. Depending on the dish you have two or more small packages. Cold and warm ingredients are separated. You can make up your plate like you want it yourself. Off course you can't expect that a dish looks like a plate that is served in a restaurant but Paul, the chef, is able to present it after delivery in a appetite way. The food itself is excellent. Day fresh ingredients are used and prepared on a way that i didn't believe that it was possible for a home delivery. And as is said before, we ordered more then one time. And every time the quality and taste was excellent and surprising. The menu is changing regularly, so certain every week you have new choices. It is matter of not waiting to long after you saw a dish you wanted to taste. It can be gone next week, but then you can find for sure a new dish. Paul and Mihaela: Chapeau !!

I read about this restaurant before our trip, and made a booking - so glad I did! Every dish was beautifully presented, the flavors were a delight. It is aptly named The Artist - every dish was a work of art. The fish and chips deserves a special mention. Throughout we were presented with little ‘extras’ that we hadn’t ordered, such as warm bread served on a quartz slab with smoked butter and salt, carrot soup served in a test tube! The cucumber sorbet dessert was exquisite!Highly recommend!

The whole experience was amazing. We chose a 4 destionations menu and we were impressed.
The starter was on the house, a meatball with sauce, homemade bread and butter, presented really nice, so tasty.
We chose saganaki shrimps, romanian risotto, tunisian duck, chinese pork and two desserts from France (melba) and US (apple pie).
At the end of the meal, we were also brought a mini dessert on the house.
The service was great and they have a very nice garden where they grow vegetables.
We will definitely come back, it was one of the best meals we had, in Romania or abroad.

the most hard to find in Bucarest its a good restaurant who is always perfect ( food, wine, environment, staff,)
The Artist is one of them.
Its my 6th visit this year and i m always happy to come back,
the waiter are perfect , present but also discret which let some intimacy,
The wine are very good and come at the good temperature,
The food its very very good, very close in what we can find in France, the cuisine that Artist make me think at Thierry Marx Style, which one of the best chef for molecular cuisine.
this is actually for me the only restaurant with such high standard in Bucarest and i tried many of them. We can feel that they really respect the product and try to
put forward on all its forms.
Thanks you again.

I came here yesterday for the first time, and I really hope it won’t be my last. I’m leaving Bucharest today, but would love to go back to The Artist. The food was absolutely exquisite! The staff were polite and professional too. I chose 4 courses - 3 ‘mains’ and a dessert. I felt this was quite sufficient as you receive an amuse bouche too (which was extremely well presented, with special effects), and I got a complimentary chocolate truffle at the end. I don’t think I could have managed any more. There were a choice of dishes, and you picked how many dishes you wanted - from 2 to 6. I thought it was reasonably price for the type of establishment it is (fine dining) - around £56 for the 4 courses (which, as I said, included the amuse bouche and the chocolate truffle, as well as bread, which was delicious and warm), as well as water (bottled) and 2 glasses of muscat. I highly recommend The Artist, and will certainly be back if ever I’m in Bucharest again.

The Artist plays with many of the traditional Romanian base products (such as Palinka) and does a good job. The food at the Artist is tasty and well presented. The wine list offers a lot of local and foreign wines. The service is sweet and attentive and all in all we had a very pleasant dining experience.
The Artist delivered what can be expected at that price level, it is tasty and cooking of a high standard - but tastewise the food lacks the “wow” factor for it to receive five bubbles.

We went to this restaurant and we came back totally disappointed. First we asked the waitress which food she recommended but her answer was that they have so much dishes and that all is different. Also after we asked what is appetizer and what is maindish she couldn’t answer properly. The biggest joke was the presentation of a waiter who readed a paper with the information about the food that was served. The employees don’t have any passion for the job. Also the food was not really tasty, after reading all the nice reviews over here we where truly disappointed and for sure we will never visit again.

So so
Very disappointing, we ordered tasting menu and we didn’t find it special, it is expensive and I think is not the best one in Bucharest.
Service was really fine. But being a fine dinning restaurant we was looking for a romantic dinner and we had a kid playing around all the time. Don’t misunderstand me, I have no problem with it but the kid was playing with a plane over our heads

We booked in advanced for this restaurant. We picked a couple of cocktails including fizzy dream and kir - the fizzy dream wasn’t that nice.
We ordered the spoon tasting menu. It was a fun way to try lots from the menu. The portion sizes were just right. The food overall was tasty but wouldn’t say outstanding. The concept was great. Some of the dishes were slightly over cooked including the octopus and the steak. The better dishes included the sea bass and the cucumber sorbet. Would recommend having the spoon tasting menu.
The service was ok it seemed a little slow at times and there was quite a long gap between courses. We weren’t approached many times to see if we wanted more to drink.
Would recommend as really well priced! Would expect to pay a lot more.

We ate here on our weekend break to Bucharest in March.
The entrance is in a lovely archway, passage between buildings and is on the first floor. The dining room that we were sitting in had nice high ceilings that come in old period house but the decor was a simple and elegant in a light grey colour. There were about seven tables in the room but well spaced out so you had atmosphere but also privacy.
We opted for the three course from the menu whereby you can chose up to ten. Now obviously this is a fine dining experience so the portions are not overly generous so choosing more courses is possible. Though in another restaurant we once opted for the 9 course and to be honest it was too much. So definitely try more than three, maybe up to six or seven!
We also went with wine pairings which were all Romanian but as we found out over the weekend their native wines are excellent.
The food was very, very good, well presented, perfectly cooked and the flavours all complimented each other.
The service was a good as you would expect from such an establishment, our waiter in particular was very good.
As we finished we decided we would need a taxi back to our hotel as the walk to the restaurant aggravated my husband’s foot so we asked the waiter for assistance, he called us an Uber and came to us as it was approaching. They were extremely helpful.
Highly Recommended

Poor service can spoil even the best food in town.
The waiters need some serious training, I guess.
Great location, amazing chef, fantastic selection of dishes, all fine in rest.

The service was excellent, very polite waiter who informed us about every dish that he was presenting us. The food also excellent from fish to meat and a wonderful wine. The environment also very good, calm place with a wonderful decoration. I strongly recommend it.

We ordered a table knowing that this restaurant has good ranks...so we came with high expectations! The staff is friendly and polite. The place is nicely decorated, it’s not fancy. The servings are beautiful and interesting, the food is written in the menu in a common way like: “fish and chips” but the food is coming with the genius chef’s interpretation and i can tell you you’re going to enjoy this place’s food and not only because it’s also a culinary experience! Must try restaurant!!!

We had a wonderful dinner experience at the artist. It’s the perfect place for a romantic quiet dinner.
We chose to combine both courses from the "a la carte" menu and from the spoon tasting menu. The spoon tasting is literally a celebration of tastes and colors, served in wonderful way in lovely dishes. Service was excellent: attentive, helpful and pleasant. We really enjoyed it.

Very chi chi. Portions are very small butt tasty. Amuse bouche served first. Tended to be somewhat stuffy and formal. Expensive. Atmosphere was just ok. Outside garden looks lovely butt too cool when we were there. Website advertises tasting spoons of all their dished as an option. We were told they don't do those anymore.
