We had a reservation for the 15 courses tasting menu.
The restaurant is located at a very quiet area in Bucharest. It is beautifully designed and decorated, and we were very well warmly welcomed to our table.
Every dish was very exceptional all arrived in a different designed plate and each one was more original than the other. it reflected beautifully Romanian cuisine with French and other techniques and reached culinary perfection in that regard.
The open kitchen increased our enjoyment as we could see how hard the staff worked to prepare each and every dish.
I have mentioned when I made the reservation that my wife was celebrating a birthday. we received a beautiful cake at the end of the very long evening and a beautiful card with a handwritten note from every one of the staff of the restaurant which was very emotional and well thought.
He stayed over four hours for a meal and enjoyed every minute of it. It was an experience to remember for a lifetime.

The food was just perfect! It wonderfully combined Romanian and French cuisine – a unique and innovative combination. The menu tells the story of Romania and delights with incredible aromas from Romanian cuisine prepared with great love and sophistication.
Our waiter Jarik was exceptionally attentive and accommodating. With his passion for the dishes, he was able to explain every detail precisely, which made the evening even more special. Thank you, Jarik, for your excellent care!
If we are back in Bucharest, we will definitely come back!

Went with my boyfriend to celebrate his birthday. The tasting menu was great both for pescatarian and regular menus.
Cocktail pairing was fantastic as well.
The waiter Razvan and the Bartender Miruna were both excellent as well as the other staff.
All in all great experience till you see the bill at the end😄 (we’ve had tasting menus around the world and this by far was one of the most expensive ones)

Nice food, slow service/path, no flexibility.
Wiring this review as I think feedback is a gift to improve.
Menu of 9 steps, it took 3h for a table of 11. Other table of 10 that started at similar time ended 50min before. Waiting time between several steps took 15min.
I’m dealing with lactose and gluten intolerance for +10 years and been in Michelin starts restaurants serving many “steps”, last time there were 15+7 treats. I’ve always even served the full menu, adapted, until visiting this restaurant and been served 4 steps and 1 treat ( there were around 5treats), no replacement , no alternative snacks, no double servings to compensate. The restaurant had the information days in advance. I’d had expect some flexibility to adapt more dishes or to offer alternatives of any type.
Fair to say that the little I could eat was very good. So if the other aspects are enhanced , it would have been a positive experience .

We thank you for the time you took in order to write and share these thoughts. However, we strongly believe that “feedback”, if planned to be offered as you stated, in an helpful, honest and productive way, should be shared on site, with the right members of staff that are in charge in order to be able to deal with your requirements and do our very best to improve your experience with us.
Now, coming back to the points mentioned above:
• Your dinner experience lasted 2 hours and 41 minutes for a table of 11 Guests out of which modifications in the menu had to be made for 3 of the guests, the menu items & servings having different times of cooking within our kitchen. The Guests from your party of 11 have had slight delays regarding the hour of arrival for the initial booking and therefore the order in the kitchen has been transmitted on top of the other table of 10 Guests that, indeed finished earlier due to a simple reason. They had a pre-booked set menu consisting of 7 Courses with no transitions in between and no modifications or alterations in the menu.
We strongly believe that your previous experiences in Michelin star restaurants will allow you to see and admit that the time differences stated are completely normal and very fair considering that fine dining etiquette and dishes are different from A La Carte and casual dining experiences regarding the time frame and sequence of service.
Moreover, if for any reason, your party would have stated that a faster pace would have been required, we would have prioritized your table and allow a faster pace.
As stated in your comment, we did have the information about the gluten & lactose allergy in advance, just as you had the reply from us that a shorter version of the menu (consisting of 5 courses) would be offered because our kitchen cannot guarantee no traces of lactose or gluten in the experience of the complete tasting menu. And, as stated on OUR WEBSITE & BOOKING FORM, if an allergy or food intolerance dictates comprehensive changes in taste, flavor or standards of our menus, we will not be able to accommodate those requests. Therefore, Madam, please accept our honest and sincere thoughts that we informed you before the booking was made about these options and also about the courses you would be offered on the specific night ahead. Even more so, a member of our staff from the Reservations Department has double checked with you over the phone if your diet is a celiac disease or not and you have mentioned that gluten is not a major issue, however lactose is. And , again, you have been informed about a reduced number of courses which you agreed upon. Then, to follow, during your dinner experience you changed your mind and said gluten is also not to be tolerated on the menu. Therefore, we needed to adapt again, on point and out of the blue. Therefore….we can, politely, agree to disagree on this manner.
Taking all of the above into consideration, we believe that a 3-star review considering our efforts to make your experience as pleasant as possible (especially regarding the restrictions we faced) is a bit harsh. However, we appreciate your feedback and we will continue to strive for a better and complete experience towards our Guests as we have done in almost all cases for the previous 6 years and 10 days since opening.

Kaiamo offers the best culinary experience in Bucharest. They pay attention to detail and every dish is an explosion of flavors. The waiters are very skilled and very good at recommending the right wine for a dish. We will return with great pleasure to this place.

Our evening started with a combination of high expectations and uncertainty as this was our first time having a gastronomic experience. And we were very pleasantly surprised as our uncertainty was lifted by Răzvan guiding us in a very kind and joyful way through every dish and our expectations were very easily exceeded by the amazing taste of all that was served to us.
The calm and relaxing vibe going through the restaurant, as it combines classic Romanian elements with modern and industrial touch, modern Romanian music with folkloric roots at the perfect volume, the open kitchen were the mesmerizing “dance” of the cooks and chef can be seen, and the barmen making some of the most interesting and tasty cocktails we’ve ever tried.
We had the 9 courses tasting menu and a part of me regrets not having tried the 11 or even the 20 one as I am very curious what other ideas and amazing dishes the chef has created, but we would need to come prepared as we had more than enough food as it was.
There are more than enough pictures here showing what one could expect. All I can say is that every dish is full of surprises and took us through a rollercoaster of emotions, from tastes reminding us of our childhood, through new and intriguing aromas that combined perfectly. Also, do not underestimate the transition treats, they were for us some of the most memorable dishes served.
We will certainly be back!

From the atmosphere to the service to the dishes, the overall experience was exactly what it needed to be.
I chose the tasting menu consisting of 9 dishes (among which there were also some pleasant surprises). The drinks chosen especially for the dishes were more than good, some of them made up of surprising ingredients.
Each dish also came with a story, which made the whole experience even more interesting.
We thank the wonderful RAZVAN for the excellent service, and because he knew exactly how to present each piece of food from start to finish.
I recommend it with confidence, it's an experience that really surprises you, and if you're curious to discover new tastes, it's the perfect place.

Kaimo delivered what was arguably the best meal I’ve ever had. The tasting menu was an incredible journey through Romania’s culinary heritage, showcasing not only outstanding local ingredients but also a deep understanding of flavour and technique. Every course was beautifully presented and packed with character, offering a perfect balance of tradition and creativity.
The wine pairing was a revelation—I never realised how exceptional Romanian wine could be, but every selection complemented the food brilliantly. A true highlight of the evening.
A special mention to Francisco, whose knowledge, passion, and service were outstanding. He struck the perfect balance between being informative and giving us space to enjoy the experience.
If you’re in Bucharest and looking for an authentic, high-end dining experience, Kaimo is an absolute must.

It was a surprise from my older sister. I suspected what she had prepared as we are both big fans of good food and had been following Kaiamo for some time. However, nothing could have prepared me for what came next. Dinner started with 3 amuse bouches that set the tone for the rest of the evening: diversity, cohesion and attention to detail. What I appreciated the most is the fact that the menu was clearly made by someone who has had enough of good food... and that's it. Each dish was meant to represent more than the sum of its parts, driven by a strong concept, each dish encouraged me to explore the flavors, textures, combinations between them and discuss them with enthusiasm. Not all of them were to my taste (inevitable with such a vast menu of 20 dishes) but even those I couldn't help but appreciate because few things make me happier than taking part to the completed vision of someone truly passionate about what they do. I would like to give special thanks to Miruna for the cocktails that totally changed my perception of what mixology can be, not just a friday night fad but an integral part of a complete gastronomic experience; and Andrei, his introductions gave us the insight needed to unravel each dish and he kindly answered every question we might’ve had. Even though they were the ones with whom I interacted most, I could only admire the fluidity and professionalism of the whole team, often staring behind the bar, towards the open kitchen (my clumsy a** could never lol). The dinner ended with a surprise from Kaiamo, a small heart-shaped cake and a card, signed by each of those who made this unforgettable evening possible, on the occasion of my birthday. Thank you once again and I look forward to seeing you again!

Superb restaurant with a very creative and unique chef offering tastes of Romania with a modern, interesting and tasty twist
We did the 11 course tasting menu which for us was more than enough food, actually generous in portion size. We also added the wine pairing which offered a selection f excellent wines from Romania and generous pours.
The dining room is open to the kitchen has a modern clean feel, very comfortable and relaxing.
Staff were excellent offering a professional yet unstuffy service with a friendly flair.
Expensive in terms of general prices in Romania but well worth the spend and good flu in comparison to other high end restaurants globally.

I rarely take the time to write a review, but the experience we had at Kaiamo necessitates me to make an exception. We had the 20 course menu at the chefs' table and every course was spot on. Chef Radu Ionescu is a nice and accesible guy who took the time himself to give proper explanation. Also the sommelier did a very good job pairing the dishes with romanian wines (which were previously unknown to us - amongst which a couple of gems) served at the right temperature. This was defenitively one of our top three restaurant experiences EVER, if not THE top experience. On top of that we managed to book the restaurant the day upfront! In Belgium this level of restaurants have 3 month waiting lists, charge 3 times more money and even then are difficult to book. It would be a pitty to go to Bucharest and miss out on the occasion to dine here. Thanks again to the entire team :)

The food was above expectations! In every country we are visiting we are always looking for a chef who has the ability to surprise us with his delicious and surprising plates. This chef has surprised us with elegant, pure and delicious cuisine. On top of that he can count on a superb staff: Francisco has presented us delicious local wines which paired perfectly with the dishes. He made us feel part of the experience but above that he made us feel at home. I took the cocktail pairing throughout the menu. The cocktail expert, Miruna, surprised me with original cocktails, prepared with the perfect ingredients to match with the plates but with such a passion and a true knowledge I've never experienced before. The personal approach of every staff member lifted the whole fine dining experience to a whole new level. It is a grate pity that Michelin is not applying stars to restaurants in Romania. Otherwise Kaiamo would be certainly rated 1 or 2 Michelin stars. We will certainly come back to what Kaiamo calls "home".

Amazing place!
Very tasty and innovative food!
We had the cocktail pairing - amazing combinations!
Personnel was very nice and helpful, they provided us with the description of every single dish and cocktail.
The design of the place is also very interesting and it has some Romanian vibes and inspiration.
We had the menu “the last dance” - recently launched in this Autumn.
We will revert for sure for the 20 dish menu 🩷
