Good Food, Lacking Service: A Below-Par Visit to Sardin

I went to Sardin yesterday and unfortunately, the experience did not live up to expectations. The service was extremely slow: after waiting at the table for 15 minutes, I had to go and get the waiter's attention myself, which is unacceptable in a restaurant of this standard. I then waited another 35 minutes for my order to be served. As for the quality of the food, it was good. However, I was disappointed with the portion of foie gras terrine, it is small and, given its size, should be included in the amuse-bouche category. Another unpleasant aspect was the behaviour of the waiter at the end. After paying the bill, he didn't greet us, probably because we didn't leave a tip on the receipt, although we had intended to offer it in cash. Overall, although the food was good, the service was below expectations and is something the restaurant needs to improve on.

Fabulous internal location, with great attention to detail, warm and welcoming. We had first a linguine with clams and a tagliatella with truffle, really compliments to the chef!!! For the second course, a grilled octopus with vegetables and fried calamari, exquisite flavours, excellent presentation. To finish, a homemade tiramisu which allowed us to conclude an excellent lunch with taste and pleasure. The service was extremely professional, attentive and very pleasant. Congratulations, I'll be back with great pleasure!!!!!

One of the worst experiences I’ve had in a restaurant. We made a reservation with our family to celebrate my brother’s birthday. He arrived there early and ordered antipasti for everyone and drinks for him and his wife. The drinks came 45 minutes later and when we asked about the antipasti, the waiter told us that the he has to take everyone’s order and thats when they will start preparing and delivering. He then continued to insult us by saying that we clearly do not know how things are done at a restaurant. We cancelled the order, paid for the drinks and left the restaurant. Didn’t even get to taste the food. Even the people from the neighboring table were negatively nodding their heads and even went on to suggest us another restaurant in proximity. Very rude staff, strongly do not recommend.

Disappointing Experience

I recently dined at Sardin and unfortunately, it was not a pleasant experience. I ordered the pasta with shrimp and zucchini, but later that night I started experiencing severe belly cramps. It's disappointing because the dish sounded nice, but the aftermath was anything but enjoyable. I hope the restaurant takes this feedback seriously and ensures better food quality and hygiene standards in the future.

Best Italian restaurant in Bucharest

One of the best surprise in 2024, we had a great lunch consisting of Italian famous varieties (vitello tonnato, octopus salad, pasta, fish soup etc), concluding with the best Tiramisu in Bucharest, and also the best panna cotta ever. Service is great, Bogdan is very kind and helpful, he made us feel like home. Definitely one of our favorite place in Bucharest.

Genuine Italian taste

The food is so tasty, with a lot of choices. Appetizers are fabulous! The first and main dishes are matching the Italian taste, having a big variety to choose from: meat, fish, veggies. All very fresh and cooked to perfection! The dessert is amazing! Portions are huge! :)) Since we discovered this place, we are coming back to experience more and more genuine dishes!

Best food in town

place is an oasis of good food, friendly staff and interesting interior design. The menu is not extensive, but features good choices both for meat and vegetarian lovers and the dishes are well cooked with a spot-on plating. The feature a seasonal section in the menu with dishes cooked from fresh ingredients available at that time.

Very nice place with cosy atmosphere. Food is high standard, simple but tasty, I highly recommend the cheese Lucifero it’s a bite of strong blue creamy cheese with chili hints, delightful. If you a truffle amateur they truffle sauce to marry with your steak is a must. Adrian the waiter is very pleasant, entertaining but not invasive. A must in Bucharest

Cosy place, but excessive prices

The place is cosy and originally decorated, however the prices are too high as compared to the services. We sat at a table which was not stable and it was not the only one with this flaw, so nothing could be done about it. Tables were ranged uncomfortably close to one another. Food was good, but not spectacular: we asked for burgers to be cooked medium, but they came rather medium rare. Overall, not too bad, but not classy either.

We love seafood and fish and this place absolutely blew out minds. We had black cod fillet and pasta calamarata with red sauce. Brilliant. Also the server was very nice and attentive to our needs.

A pleasant surprise

Nice restaurant, very friendly service. It was completely busy inside, so we sat on the terrace. As an addition to the street noise, the music was a bit too loud. Elegant portions, good quality and excellent presentation, quite high prices. Not recommended for those looking for big, cheap portions.

We came for the apple tart and to admire the beautiful design of the place but we were pleasantly surprised also by the excellent service. Claudia was very friendly and helpful, all her recommendations were spot on. The food was delicious!!! Highly recommend the place!
