I went there and ordered pies and the waiter suggested that I should order anything else but pies because it takes too long to cook them!🤣🤣🤣🤣Watch out for seeds in the cherries pie !!!

There are six or so La Placinte outlets in Bucharest, usually on main boulevards. The menu is very similar in each but this branch makes a welcome change to the nearby Cotroceni mall and (given the Covid 19 aftermath) has plenty of outdoor seating, much...of it not on the pavement. The vast majority of dishes are standard ubiquitous Romanian and are fair to good examples of such, though with moderate to small portions - ciorba, mămăliga, meat dishes, sausages - all in an illustrated menu that gives a good idea of what you’re in for. The stars are probably the placinte themselves, Moldavian pies with a passing resemblance to filo pastry pies from Greece etc. Drinks cover the range of non- & alcoholic but without anything outstanding or out-of-the-ordinary. The prices are not cheap but one can get a main dish and a drink for <€10. I would not recommend this as an eating out “event” but a reliable place to get an edible meal in quite a pleasant place. Service was okay but also not outstandingMore
It’s a good place where you can eat something in silence. It’s a small place, with traditional Romanian music and decoration. Personally, I prefer this place instead of the mall which is beside this restaurant.
First night we wandered into La Placinte a casual restarant/cafe on a large boulevard. Many locals but also English language menus that catered to tourists. We had cabbage rolls, polenta, grilled skewers, a salad and Romanian wine. Hit the spot for the evening. Is it...the best in town? Probably not, but it was easy to find, comfortable, and perfect for two jet lagged tourists.More
Would not call it very cheap abut anyway is not expensive. Good place for a lunch, but quite crowdy, so would not recommend as a place to chat.
We entered on a wintry day after shopping at nearby AFI. we wanted a good meal and kind service. We only obtained reasonably good food. After a long wait I received the Solenka soup I ordered. It had to be sent back because contrary to...my specific request it was lukrwarm. The second round after some wait resulted in warmer soup but no really "boiling" as asked. My wife's main course - stuffed cabbage was excellent. My beef Stroganoff had to be sent back for heating. It was practically cold. We waited ages for the bill. When we asked them to order a taxi for us, they looked at us as we were out of our mind. That is not included in their service. Well, La Placinte will not be included in our list for next visit...More
The place it's designed with Moldavian folklore patterns. The service is ok, the serving time ok as well. The food is good, but the portions a bit small compared to the same restaurant but different location. The pies are worth to try, but they changed...the dough in the last months and they cut down on the quality a bit.More
I like this place mostly because of the location. It needs more improvement on the service. The food is good, the pies are frozen and heated most probably but still good at taste. I recommend the potato pie and the pancakes for dessert.
Today we went for a family breakfast downtown. We chose La Placinte because I like their food and, although every time I went there the service was terrible, somehow I hoped that this time would be different. Maybe it was just bad luck. But no....They are just terrible with their customers. We were the first customers, we arrived before 10.30. We ordered two capuccinos, an omlette and a “boiled papanasi” portion. The omlette and drinks arrived after 20’ aprox., the 3 of us (our 20 old month included) shared one omlette and I still waited for my papanasi portion. After asking why it’s taking so much (one hour after ordering!!), they brought me a portion of fried papanasi. I said this was not what I had ordered and the waiter said it was my fault I didn’t mention what kind of papanasi I wanted (as if I was supposed to know their selection of food). Even more jaw-dropping, the waiter tried to take my husband as a witness of me not mentioning what I wanted. He then brought my boiled papanasi in another 10’ max. I’m wondering what the heck took them one hour, when they could have brought it in just 10’ and leave us all eat together. This is not an isolated incident. It happened every time I went to a La Placinte restaurant, in Bucharest at least. I won’t set foot in there until I know their service is good. I don’t recommend the place, better go in the mall, at the food court!More
If you are into trying some of Romania's most iconic traditional food, La Placinte might be the place for you. They have recently changed the menu and some new and tasty foods are waiting for you. "Caciula lu' Guguta" pancakes are the most awesome thing...ever on their menu.More
for remmembering your mother's food this is the best option. tastefull food, fast service, traditional romania/moldavian atmoshere
The location from Afi Mall is great. Although it is located near the street it is very quiet. The food is amazing. We ate a salty cheese pie and a chicken brast with vegetables. The chicken was very good and very well cooked. The vegetables...had the flavour of grandma ones.More
We had a very good surprise with this restaurant. The food is very tasty. Everything we have eaten was very good. For some dishes the prices are a bit too expensive. The serving was very good also.
- I waited about 15 minutes to receive the menus - Waited 40 minutes after the order was placed to receive the drink (1l lemonade) - Waited another 30 minutes or so to receive the food - Asked two times for the check with credit...card The waiter was very unprofessional and said that he is alone and that he can't manage so many customers (the place was ~40% full as it was 20:00 o'clock) I was sitting inside the restaurant, at table 14, across the bar, over the green flower wall. After receiving the food and finally started eating, at one time someone sprinkled water (I hope) over me, my phone, and the table. After I complained the bar waiter told me "sorry". He probably wanted to joke with another waiter and didn't know that at that table there was a customer. At first, I was shocked but when I realized I wanted to complain but my company calmed me down. The food seemed decent/good as I was so hungry I could have eaten anything. It is incredible how in 2017 you can get services THAT bad in downtown European capital.More
The food is not amazing, even thought they are preparing local food, the staff is nice, not very crowded.
