Good food but getting more and more expensive

I eat at the History Village quite often, as I find the location very convenient for my stays in Zagreb. They do have good food and the staff is friendly. However, I have noticed that with time the serving sizes have become smaller and the prices went higher. If this trend continues, in due course, this restaurant is about to become a typical tourist trap, which would be a shame.

Great feed!

Stumbled on here after walking around. Warmed us up with hot wine (had red and white, just had to choose) Soup was amazing (had beef soup) and the starters & main courses for us all were very tasty. Had a variety of meals including some local eats. Friendly and helpful taff and fast service too. Overall good food and warm.

Pancakes

This restaurant and bar have sign for best pancakes so I had to try it. I choose one called P-Bountyvita. It was with bounty pieces and a lot of chocolate. As drink I choosed beer that not fit fo pancakes but was tired of going around and look for small food. I guess this i a place more for drinking drinks and beer. And listning to party musik. They had some other food with pommes frites and meat. But I am tired of pommes frites. The pancakes was nothing wrong with.

This is the lousiest place I have been recently. After we told the waiter that there was a milk carton in a the bottom of a hot chocolate cup, he rudely just sad that we should have sad that earlier witch was imposible since we saw it ehen we got to the bottom of the cup, no apology. The bar was almost empty and we waited for the beer half an hour. The third time we ordered 'hot apple', we got an orange in the drink..where there obviously should have been an apple. Will never go there again. Avoid.

Tourist trap! Don't go there

Waited 20 minutes for waiter to take orders, then waited almost an hour for food to come. Ordered chicken nuggets with french fries and beef wok. Nuggets and fries were soggy and tasted like old oil. Instead of beef they gave us chicken wok with one piece of beef and peanuts in wok was old and tasted weird. Of course, they charged beef wok which is bit more expensive than chicken. To receive my check and pay, I had to wait 45 minutes (and had to ask three different waiters Nearby tables were full of dishes from guests that left the restaurant and nobody came to pick it up as long as we were there, while other guests had nowhere to seat. All in all, worst service ever.

We were looking for a nice place for some cocktails in Zagreb. When we found a free table at this location the waiter quickly appeared for our order ( the only good thing about it). The service was not very nice, they don't have a menu and when we asked for a recommendation or in general which cocktails they offer he answered rude, way to fast and unrespectfull. The cocktails were just water. No real taste of fruit or alcohol in it. Tourist trap! Can not recommend

Shocking experience at star 57

Ordered food at star 57 , asked for no sauce on burger twice but still came with sauce anyways.However I tried to persevere by asking for a knife to scrape sauce off , the waiter then told me that a burger is handheld food and rolled his eyes before reluctantly bringing me a knife and fork. After finishing the meal we sat for twenty minutes he then asked if the burger was okay to which I politely explained the situation to which he said okay and walked off without asking if we wanted anything else / clearing plates and bringing the bill. 15 minutes later he then clears the plates and we ask for the bill to which it was brought twenty minutes later multiple prompts included. To top it off he brought over the bill and held the card machine in front of me without saying a word throughout the whole interaction. Wouldn’t recommend, a 250ml glass of coke was €3.20 whilst at the local spar 2 minutes down the road a coke is piece at €1.10. Food underwhelming as well but other items weren’t priced as bad.

My inner Gordon Ramsay was screaming in agony

I ordered a bowl of Green Curry at this restaurant today and now I have PTSP. They cooked the rice until it died in agony. Then they cooked it again. There were huge chunks of chicken that had all that yucky stuff on them - white bits, cartilage, it was disgusting. And - nothing was green. And absolutely nothing tasted good. My inner Gordon Ramsay was screaming. I had to go get a lot of comfort ice cream later. It tasted like something you'd serve to your worst enemy. But then you'd change your mind and serve them something else. Because nobody hates anyone THAT MUCH.

Five of us stopped for dinner and drinks - all reasonably priced. We had goulash, sausages, chicken and bao buns - all very tasty. The restaurant is well located in a busy thoroughfare with lots of passers by and goings on. We sat in the outside covered space and one of the staff put on some heaters for us. Much enjoyed.

Splendid!

Visited about a week ago. The service is reasonably fast and very friendly. Much of traditional cucine is always available and is delightful. The desserts are all homemade and they topped the line! We will come back again for sure.

Nice place- bad service

I don't recommend! The price is one on the menu, and another on the receipt. On menu Gin Hendricks was 27 ... they charge us 39. Explanation - missing. The service is beyond criticism! The waitress was unable to answer our questions. Shame about the nice bar!

Morning Pick Me Up

After putting several km’s under our belt, we stopped to get a drink and watch the world go by. Outside patio is covered and shaded with round tables or bench seating. Waiter was efficient serving a large area. Drinks were served quickly and drank slowly. Great spot to give the feet a break.

Amazing Bar Service!

We went here to watch a footy match and have drinks. Joseph was our waiter and he was excellent! Couldn’t do enough for us, he even fetched food after the kitchen closed. Will definitely be going back on our next visit.

Nice place though...

Very welcoming and trendy place, in a beautiful characteristic street. Unfortunately you can still smoke inside so after half an hour, especially in winter, you come out with your clothes soaked in smoke. On Saturday afternoon, apparently, they don't serve coffee or hot tea...Bah! I don't understand the logic behind this commercial policy but it is how it is.

Great simple food at a good price and well situated in the centre of the city. We can definitely recommend the vegetarian burgers. Nice cocktails too.
