Wonderful dining experience: beautifully prepared and beautiful to look at ... with the most amazing service. The Esplanade does everything well.

Absolutely lovely waiter - very friendly, informative and sincere. The wine and food could not have been better so we ended up having dinner here twice, two nights in a row!

Pricey meals but everything beyond tasty and impeccable service. It's probably one of the loveliest meals I've had in Zagreb. We ordered the scallops as a starter, john dory fillet and veal cheeks as mains and Krauthaker house wine. Everything was simply perfect.

Very good food by Croatian standards - also a good wine list. The service was very good and we were pleasantly surprised by the whole experience.

We dined at this cheaper alternative and enjoyed the meal with good service and ambience. Unfortunately later that evening I was ill from something I ate. My croatian version of beef pot pie was probably the culprit. It was dry and overdone with too much tough crust. Other selections were better as was the wine.

The service is superb in this hotel/restaurant but the food proved to be underwhelming in particular relative to the reviews here -- the meat was on the hard side.

It was pretty late at night and we didn't have any choice nor energy to explore the city and find a decent place open at that time of night we just walked in. Food was tasty and delicious and we enjoyed the meal but bit pricey . Guest staying at the hotel should try .

It was my wifes' birthday so a special place was called for. A glass of Veuve Cliquot to toast the occasion followed by a very palatable Serbian Pinot Noir. Starters were carpaccio for me and scallops for my wife. Mains were sea bass and beef tartare. All very good to excellent. It was unfortunate that we were sitting outside on... More

The Bistro is part of the Esplanade Hotel, but open to the public, and far away from the hotel's formal dining room. Service is good and friendly, staff even offering advice when asked. The food is usually perfectly cooked, and beautifully presented. The wines available are good quality and not expensive. The Bistro has glass walls and hence provides a... More

The location is superb as it is next to the station. The outside seating is also such a delight that we really enjoyed the sunshine. Most importantly the foot is so delicious and beautifully presented! The 3 course menu with a glass of wine (20 euro) is very reasonable. We will definitely come back if there is another chance!

Thank Maria M

Le Bistro has a strong heritage and history as the city's culinary innovator. Opened in 1986, as a small French type of restaurant, Le Bistro immediately took an important place in the everyday life of the capital. It was the first restaurant with the glass roof. Le Bistro hostesses were the first in town to wear silk uniforms. Also, Le Bistro was the first place where wine and champagne were served per glass. It is interesting that Le Bistro first served little chocolate with the coffee, and in 1989 Le Bistro was the first place in Croatia to serve the famous Italian dessert tiramisu and celebrate Valentine's Day.

Today, this charming renovated restaurant is home to the legendary 'Esplanade Strukli' - traditional dish of Zagreb region - and the best in town!

Le Bistro offers light breakfast, excellent coffee, awarded cakes, croissants, Menu du jour at just 19 EUR (3-course menu per Chef's choice with glass of house wine, coffee or tea), seasonal a la carte menu - available on App store for download and weekly promotional menus.

Enjoy Le Bistro during breakfast, lunch or dinner inside or on the green terrace.

Open every day from 9 am - 11 pm
