Our waiter was amazing. Patient, flexible, informative. The traditional stewed beef dish was quite delicious. My salmon fine. The dessert - chocolate with almonds or almond flour was outstanding. Dense but light. One of our best desserts ever.

Hubby and I spent the weekend in Zagreb and we were looking for a place we hadn't tried yet. I'm gluten free so we noticed that Agava came up in the gluten free list so we have our a try. The atmosphere is what and the wait staff very attentive and helpful. I ordered the chicken with fennel and was... More

A tourist walking down Tklciceva Street (the main "restaurant row") in Zagreb is likely to be overwhelmed by the sheer number of choices. This is particularly true if you're interested in having the standard Croatian restaurant fare. Dozens of restaurants feature the same items, but which place does it particularly well? Agava does literally *everything* well, and the service and... More

Two colleagues and I had dinner here - two wil salmon and one sea bass. All good, tasty and nucely presented. The restaurant is up a flight of steep, uneven steps - I would recommend not drinking too much!

I had asked the property manager where I was staying for good recommendations on where I could find some of the more authentic Croatian food. She recommended Agava and boy, it did not disappoint! Inland Croatia is known for more of their heartier dishes, while the coast is a lot of seafood and Mediterranean cuisine. However, the food is excellent... More

"Restaurant AGAVA" - a place where fine dining truly meets a casual atmosfere.

This is very special place, a bit hidden, a bit shy...A classic Italian restaurant filled with subtle dark colours and distinctive lightning. Wide windows provide an unique view, and in spring and summer the green terrace will attract you immediately. The restaurant was opened in 2005. It is runned by Belizar Milos (owner/partner) who is also the main chef, responsible for many mediterranean delices and beyond.

So, come to the number 39 of Tklaciceva street... It'll take you 39 staircases to come to your little hiding place.
