I haven't been to the place maybe for the last 2-3 years. And what a surprise?! The cuisine is already high-end, carefully balanced. Your plate is an art canvas with a fantastic mixture of tastes. At this place you could celebrate or just enjoy dinner...with friends, or invite your foreign business partners. That's a new jewel in the heart of Sofia.More

Again, we had a limited time schedule in Sofia so called into BackGround on the street, as it looked so good, but little did we know till after we had eaten that this seating is primarily for smokers. However, during our visit, no one was...smoking, which was probably a very good thing. We sat down and were served by a woman who spoke quite acceptable English (I do admire anyone who does, by the way) and ordered pumpkin soup and an omelette with yellow cheese and tomatoes. It was only a matter of minutes before the food came out, well presented. The omelette had what looked like mozzarella cheese (white cheese is feta, incidentally) and the tomatoes were sliced and on the side, rather than in the omelette itself. The soup was standard, thick pumpkin and came with pita bread. Both were very tasty and enjoyable. Also, they were relatively inexpensive, making the lunch a good one.More

We had no trouble with food. Even was good. I could recommend chicken breast with tagliatelle. But I can,t stand the agressive actitude of the girl that had attended us. My son asked for a homenade lemonade made with mineral water (no sparkling). The girl...brought us the lemonade and a mineral water. As I said "oh, sorry, we don,t need the water", she said like an angry teacher: "you have ordered it". It,s an absolute lack of empathy and a stupid way to loose the service after this behaviour. I must say that it was an attitude too much common in waitress girls in Sofia, not un the rest of Bulgaria. Un Sofia, some young waitress look to the clients with condescendence.More

This was the only place with empty seats on the street so we went for a drink and ended up staying for dinner. Food was good, as was the service. Wouldn't rush back but I'd go again.

Half cooked fries and small portions even though it sides extra with meat, very poor. Best avoided. The waitresses were attentive but we went to eat
