My partner and I enjoyed a meal here on a lazy Sunday afternoon. We chose the shopska salad and two other vegetarian dishes that did not disappoint-one with eggplant and the other with peppers, cheese and egg.
Our waiter was very attentive and patient as we practiced our novice Bulgarian with him. It was nice to sit and watch friends and families walk by as we ate our meal.
We will definitely be back again!

Excellent food and excellent service in the center of Sofia. The waiters have a big experience to consult for choosing menus (meat or fish). Highly Recommended perfect for invitations. Thank you for perfect dinners.

This restaurant was indicated by a local and caters for both foreigners and Bulgarians. The entrance is narrow but once inside, it is a large space with two ample floors and consequently very noise (so, no romantic interludes here) as it is popular, so reservations would be in order. The napkins and table cloth are embroidered and smelled really fresh. The menu is vast and the food was flavourfull. The price of a meal with water, main dish and dessert came to be about $27.00 CAD including a modest tip. Be warned that the service is slow, most likely because of the very busy rhythm that the kitchen has to deal with in such a large and busy place.

This has all the qualities of a bad restaurant. The waiters push higher priced items as "house specials"- as better choices / house specialties, after you order your food. We had an overpriced lamb dish that was below average. Rather overcooked, no flavor. This website called "culture trip" recommended this place. It should be avoided. So many other restaurants in Sofia have less expensive food that is better. One of the worst restaurants I have eaten at in Europe.

My boyfriend booked a table for two few days ago. He explicitly asked for a table with a nice view. When we arrived, we asked to change the table and we went upstairs. The location was great and food was fine.
However, all the staff were rude and unprofessional.
We asked to the waitress to advise us about the menu. She just said "here we have traditional dishes". Thanks, we can read that.
So my boyfriend was unsure about two plates (the blue chicken and the pokreklo) and the waitress just was not interested. So my boyfriend asked for the pokreklo but he got the blue chicken. We didn't complain because it was the second choice. Also, soon after she took the order, the waitress came back asking which appetisers we asked for because she forgot. Quite unbeliebavle considering the type of restaurant.
I don't recomend it.

My friends and I decided to eat here one night for a birthday celebration and we were not disappointed at all. The decor set the mood for a delightful celebration. The staff was quick with seating us, taking our orders and eager to assist with taking pictures for us after dinner. Everything we ate here was very tasteful and most of the dishes were large enough to share. I will be back.

I have been using this restaurant for just over six years and up until our visit this week we were very impressed with the variety on the menu, the ambience, the decor, the service and the quality of food. When I first found this restaurant I was wandering along Vitosha Boulevard looking for a bookshop which was recommended to me, and I saw an 'A' frame board which said 'Home Made Food'. The entrance six years ago was fairly non descript, however I was enticed by the board, and went into the restaurtant and I was absolutely gobsmacked, this was a beautifully decorated establishment, was shown to a table and given a menu. My waitress asked me what I would like to drink, and ordered a glass of hose red.
The menu was a beautifully bound book with many choices catering for various pockets. I was really pleased with my choice of main course and house wine.
I have to go twice a year to Sofia and travel by car from Bansko therefore don't have more than one glass of wine. On my last three visits 'glasses of wine' are not available, only half and whole bottles are available. As I was driving I didn't want either a half or full bottle of wine.so had to settle for a glass of beer. On this occasion the menu didn't have lamb shank which we have had before, and cooked to perfection, a disappointment. We had the mixed grill that can be shared by two. Some chicken, pork, one sausage, two burgers and cooked vegetables. The chicken and pork were both very gristly, the burgers were good as were the vegetables. I didn't complain as we made up our mind not to come back and find another good establishment elsewhere in Sofia for our next visit. The staff were not up to the usual standard, by asking if everything was alright or did we enjoy our meal. It looks to us that they are having a high turnover of staff as non of the were the same as our previous visits.
For what we had it was overpriced considering the poor quality of meat. I feel because they are on a prime site, they don't have to care. Looks like maximum profits by providing poor food and poor staff.
We will not visit this establishment again, it has gone down hill.

We had several different appetiser dishes and several main dishes (vegetables and meat dishes). And everything was great. Meat soft and tender, vegetables fresh and warm garlic bread perfect (we could only eat that). We also had house Rakiya “aged Sliva reserve” - it was like good cognac.
Only minor objection is desert, we had lava cake and it was served in a glass cup. Taste was good, but it think it would been even better if it was served without a cup.
Service on a level, ambient interesting as always.

Place is nice decorated and very pleasant atmosphere. When we order calamary rissotos and fish with vegetable we waited very long untill it came (at that time there were only few guests in restaurant). When it came fish was cold and some vegetable was ‘burned’. Calamary in risotto were too dry. After that our waiter was gone, nobody was there to fill our glases with vine. Bottle wasn’t on the table, but on the side table. We ordered 3 different desserts and all of them were excellent: mango sorbet, Kadaife and Katmer. Wine was good but expensive. When we complained about food waiter said: ‘sorry’…and that was all ?!? 🤷♀️ We payed for cold fish with burned vegetables for two 185 lev / 90€ 😱🫣🤬

Stopped here for a quick bite with my brother. Second time coming here and knew it to be predictable in its offerings and quality.
I prefer the inside with its flora and fauna decor. Tables are well spaced out so it does not feel intrusive and the service was excellent and swift.
The menu is expansive and there will be something for everyone who might have special dietary restrictions or preferences.
On the two occasions I have been here it has been reasonably busy we never had to wait to long for our orders to be delivered to the table. It is not fast but just right which equates,in my mind? That food is freshly prepared.
The prices are very reasonable for the quality and service, there are a lot of staff attending to the patrons.
I enjoy coming here for a bite and would come back again

We got lucky with a free table on a busy Friday night (people were queuing outside when we left). The food is delicious - with a huge menu and plenty of choice. Excellent value (3 courses plus a couple of bottles of wine came to £20). Waiting staff were friendly and attentive and the decor was stunning. Recommend!

It has an excellent location, great interior and lovely lunch menu options. Their homemade bread with cheese is to die for! The restaurant would be amazing if it wasn’t for the disappointing behaviour of the rude waitresses. Taking two stars off purely for that. Not sure if I would be inclined to return because of how unwelcome the servers make you feel. They roll their eyes when you ask for something or they straight-up ignore you. Puzzling and disappointing...

We found the waiter rude trying to push us into buying the most expensive drinks and insulting our choices. 2 black hairs were found in one of our meals and after complaining, we were told they were whiskers. To top it off we were then charged for 4 extra meals (70 lev more). Would not recommend to any tourists.

The middle of a pedestrianised street is not usually the best place to find fine-dining restaurants. Still, they served quite surprisingly delicious dishes, with a very tasty, imaginative, great selection of food. The restaurant is suitable for business meetings, but also for gatherings of friends and family.

This restaurant attracted us already by the decoration, it's really beautiful inside. The food was even better, the dishes are unique, very tasty, i was particularly impressed with the pumpkin with cheeses. The prices are higher compared to other restaurants in sofia but its worth it.
