Not an Italian restaurant. We have ordered panini, actually isn’t a panini because it was with a regular bread and not panini bread. The cheese was without a flavor. The pasta wasn’t good as well, and it felt not fresh.More

Good morning sir. Benny. Could you tell us when he would come? I'll have the staff read your review. Furthermore, it is certain that our Panini are "special" and I have been preparing them since 1981 in Italy / Genoa. It may happen that it...More

This place is adorable! It is tiny inside, but it is run by a lovely family, who make every guest feel special and welcomed. The pasta is delicious and the salads are innovative, yet very tasty. Make sure you leave room for dessert though, because...it is splendid! I wish the place was bigger though because you never know if you’ll score a table, however there is some fun in the unknown as well. I recommend!More

A small cosy lil place with a great neighborhood ambience.. the food is excellent.. and service is bang on. I’m glad that this place isn’t all that well known.

It took bit of effort to find this place as it was much smaller than I expected. But upon entering the main door, the fragrance of pasta and tomatoes consumed me and my desire for Italian noodles increased a thousand-fold.  The unassuming place is right...across from other glass enclosed bistros and the first time I walked right by the place. On my backtrack, the plastic "tent" entrance got my attention along with the small sign. There was no real lunch crowd at 1:30 pm which was nice as the place is rather small...only about seating for 15 inside and about 8-10 in the outer smoking-tent part. When I entered, there was only a businessman and an amorous couple in the place and the Italy-trained chef and two helpers in the small cooking area. It was also nice to see a Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence for 2017 hanging on the wall.  I ordered the seafood pasta dish after reading its description in the menu and the mussels in open shells certainly added to the appearance of the steaming hot dish. To compliment the pasta I ordered a lime-ginger juice which further added to my culinary experience. The close proximity of patrons in the bistro means interactions can easily occur and such a connection further enhanced my visit. I will definitely return to Bistro Pesto on my next visit to Sofia.More

I am afraid to praise this place as it is so tiny that if it becomes very popular, I will never be able to get a table. This is the most homey cute place with polite easy-going staff, actually feels like you are at home,...not at a restaurant. I have tried only a few pasta dishes, because I love pasta and after the first time I have never ordered and will never order anything different from pasta with beef ragu and cheesy pasta! They are pure delight!More

First things first. Excellent atmosphere. We ordered two pasta, one with pesto and one with anchovies, garlic and tuna. They were really tasty and the pasta was fresh. On Top of these, They have reasonable prices.

One look at this place made me want to go inside, even though I wasn't that hungry. I thoroughly enjoyed my meat pasta and the sauce was sublime. Next time, I'll bring an emptier stomach and a friend as this place has just the right...atmosphere to relax. The staff were absolutely charming.More

At first sight the restaurant might look a bit unpresentable, but the ambiance is very cozy. And this is not everything. The pasta - it is magical. They will cook it in front of you and will serve it in the pan in which it...was cooked. You should also try the dessert - it is just melting in the mouth. Moreover, they always bring you sweets with the bill as a compliment.More
