Located near Alexander Nevsky church, this Japanese restaurant deserves a visit.Nicely decorated, it gives you the sense that you have a lunch or dinner somewhere in Asia and not at the heart of Sofia.I ordered meat dumblings as a starter( yaki gyoza). Probably they were the best dumblings I have ever tried! Absolutely delicious. For main dish I ordered a dish with rice, chicken and omelette eggs on top. I think it’s name is Oyakodon at the menu. Very nice, even though it was a little bit sweety for me.For drink, I ordered a big bottle of mineral water. The bill was 35 leva (17.5 euros). Fair price for an Asian restaurant. Service was really professional. If you like Japanese food this is an excellent choice at Sofia.

Chef Mihalchev, the owner, is well known as one of the judges of 'Masterchef', but mostly of his Asian food knowledge and experience. Once upon a time he was the one creating the menus of many sushi restaurants in Sofia. And here is the difference with his own one. Visiting Miyabi one should have in mind that this is a japanese restaurant with japanese food (the sushi here is only on the background. If you want a sushi , go to a sushi restaurant ). I have visited many times Miyabi and many times I saw japanese to eat here. What would be a better advertisement than that. Yes, the prices are not low as the quality is high . Recommend with two hands!!!

The place is super cool and authentic. The personnel are very helpful and fun. All dishes we ate had fantastic flavors, it felt like I was feeding my soul. Highly recommend the duck breast and the dumplings with minced meat, the rice with chicken and the matcha cake were great too. Im definately going to visit this place again!

I really enjoyed the interior and even the uncomfortable chairs that were chosen for the Japanese Aesthetic and all the small details in the restaurant. My issue is with the fact that the place is really expensive for the quality and amount that they offer you. The green tea that was served was a bit on the colder side , the salad dish was small and not that tasty but quite expensive. I didn't try out the Ramen due to the fact that it was the most expensive Ramen in the entire city . The sushi was pretty fine and the service was fast for the most part. Overall the quality of the food is not worth the high prices.

Prior to our visit, my friends and I had high hopes, because of the good reviews here. For a restaurant of this price range, I was left quite disappointed by the food quality. The service was slow and the waiter forgot to bring at least a couple of our orders. Eventually, we left the place hungry.

One of the worst dining experiences I have ever experienced. This is described as a Japanese restaurant but I didn't see any Japanese people cooking or serving, and certainly not dining. It is about as Japanese as Pot Noodle, but not as good. We were seated at a table near the entrance right where they serve the food, not a great table especially with the air con blowing directly at us. We asked if we could be re-seated as most of the restaurant was still empty. This request was refused - why, who knows, although they did at least switch the air con off, as it was apparently impossible for them to adjust the fan direction. We ordered meat dumplings and prawn tempura to start. The dumplings arrived first, and were ok. That was the end of anything positive about the meal though. As I mentioned earlier, our table was right next to where the chefs placed the food to be served. After we'd been seated, a couple came in with a large dog and sat close to us. I was slightly surprised at this, as unless they’re guide dogs, dogs are not normally allowed inside restaurants. Anyway after the dumplings has been served, the waiter went to this table with the dog and started talking to them and eventually taking their order. By this time, the prawn tempura had been placed by the chefs on the bar literally adjoining our table, for the waiter to serve to us. However the waiter had only just gone over to this table with the dog at that point, and then I saw him not only stroking the dog, but also letting the dog lick his hands. It was absolutely disgusting. And meanwhile our prawn tempura was sitting getting cold, and was going to be served by someone whose hands were getting licked by a dog! So I decided I would pick the plate up and put it on our table. Not a big deal, I didn't think. However when the waiter eventually finished taking the order from the other table and having his hands licked by the dog, he came over and saw that the prawn tempura was on our table. However instead of just accepting the situation, he got extremely angry, and said very loudly that he does the service and then even louder: "This is not McDonald's" so that the entire restaurant could hear. What a rude and incredibly unpleasant thing to say to a diner at a restaurant. I genuinely couldn't believe my ears. I wanted to get up and leave, but my wife doesn't like commotions so we stayed, but this was one of, if not the worst restaurant experiences I have had in my life. (And the prawn tempura wasn't even that good.) For a main, I had the Katsu curry don, which was awful and reminded me of school dinners, my wife had the Yaki udon, a noodle dish which was very stodgy, and my daughter had the Karaage don, a crispy chicken dish that was barely edible and mainly comprised fat. A truly terrible restaurant with the rudest most unhygienic and unpleasant waiter I have ever experienced. Avoid at all costs.

I had high hopes, because of the good reviews I read. For a restaurant of this price range, I was left quite disappointed. The food was very good, expensive, but good. The whole place was small, smelled of food, windows were dirty and the service was poor. It was like a school canteen - not at all the luxury Japanese experience I anticipated. It is hard to park your car nearby and they don't accept card payments, which made very bad impression

Interior is simple, a bit worn out. A detailed cleaning is needed. Service is doubtful- not poor, but far from excellent. Definitely the place needs better ventilation. The Chef is locally renovated as a Japanese food guru. He was not cooking at that time. Food isn’t impressive- be aware I am not Asia food lover. It was must try experience, but definitely I will not repeat it.

5⭐️ authentic Japanese food 🙏🙏 Also, loved the ambience and special attention to detail from Chef Mihalchev and his Team 👏👏 Their wagyu beef set is an excellent way to taste this exclusive and so talked about delicacy for a very reasonable price… a must try 👍 I’m looking forward to returning again and again… Arigato 🙏

I looked up Ramen and this place popped up, it's a great small restaurant in a small courtyard. It was a Monday but it was still fully booked (there are not a lot of tables so it's best to book) The interior is very Japanese, cool tables, they are shorter than the norm. The food was excellent, dumplings, the scallops and Ramen. It has authentic Japanese beer and teas, the music and interior were calming so all in all a great experience. Yes it's slightly pricey, imported beer and ingredients but to an acceptable level I think for the experience. My waitress was on call and friendly. I look forward to going again soon to try some of the other dishes.

We first searched on Tripadvisor to find something appreciated and confirmed from sushi offer in Sofia. This restaurant had a very good notes so we didn't expect such difference...Sushi really not the best one - in offer but also in taste. The soups Ramen were too salt and too fat (too much pork fat inside!) . And what was a huge surprise is that it was extremely expensive - 70 EUR for 2 adults and 2 small kids ...The decoration is very nice and service was very pleasant but food & prices need to be changed !

I have been in this restaurant many times and every time I left asking myself when I will be back! Its hard to find good japanese place in Sofia but this one is excellent! Always very fresh fish and delicious meals :) Sushi is really good, wasabi is homemade, curry udon soup is always super yummy and every time a bit different which is cool. I can recommend also gyoza and yaki soba but for sure you will not be disappointed with other choice!
