The experience in Tenebris was literally an eye opener! I don't have a problem to adapt to absence of light and didn't have any of the difficulties of the other members of my table (even they were not so stresses and quickly overcame the new...feelings). Yet, during the tasting process (and after) I realized how much I miss my eyes to really appreciate the food. As a professional food technologist and sense analyst, I approached the task of defining what I eat quite seriously. The food was quite odorless (probably on purpose), and quite bland (I hope this was purposely done too), so my pleasure of the experience did not come from the food. At the end of the dinner when I was shown pictures of what was served, I came to realize how disappointing it was not to be able to see the beauty of colors and presentation. Even tasteless food can be appreciated if seen nicely plated. My presumption is that Tenebris first purpose is the black part, and not the gourmet. If so, they managed it really well - for one, the staff was impeccable and impressively skillful. The whole experience of Tenebris is worth it and one must try it for itself, not with expectation of fine dining. I'd gladly recommend it and even use it to surprise fellow professionals who rely on their eyes as first sense.More
