Convenient location near the heart of the city. Cosy athmosphere with good Italian food and long winelist mainly offering quality Italian wines. The place is small and cosy with live jazz instrumental music. There'a also a shop on the first floor where you can buy...Italian food and wines on a good prize. The only thing that should be highly improved is the service. They are definitely not professionals and don't know what their restaurant may offer to the clients. Also the waiters don't know much about the wines which is unacceptable in that kind of place.More

We stumbled on this Italian deli with restaurant upstairs after finishing a walking tour of Sofia. The deli downstairs is really enticing and the upstairs restaurant light and comfortable with interesting decor and open kitchen. The service was a bit off-hand at first but I...think we misinterpreted that because our waiter was so sweet and helpful. We shared the picnic - which is literally laid out in front of you theatrically - breads, pate and olives, a cheese plate of assorted cheeses, tomato and basil bruschetta and a 4 cheese pizza. All absolutely delicious and washed down with an excellent bottle of red wine. £30 a couple. Really enjoyableMore

Really the best service ever experienced in a restaurant. The chef did his very best to tell us everything about the menu and the host made us feel so welcome we came back a few days later. The chocolate dessert was the most delicious dessert...in Sofia with very special presentation. Also the pizza, pasta and risotto are recommendational. You should go here if you want to eat good Italian food in Sofia!More

This place has a nice location and I've never been disappointed when I visited. The staff is well educated about wines and can recommend a good one that goes with the meal. Pizza is good but I had better in Sofia.

After the renovation (it's nice, though) There was no full menu presented, just the recently added meals , so the waiter told us about the other pasta options and approximate prices However we chose pasta from the menu. When we got the bill it was...much more expensive. The waiter’s misleading tricks to make you order from the more expensive stuff, is annoying- the least to say. Make sure to ask for the exAct price of the meal to avoid any surprised at the end. Cheap way to make a buck or two, misleading the clientele Will avoid it More

There was just one waiter, Ivaylo who had to take all the tables all by himself. In the shop part of the restaurant there was no one, so I couldn't buy anything for takeaway. I don't think that in that space should be just one...waiter, especially when the floors are two. Ivaylo managed to take all the tables alone and the service was amazing! And the food was really delicious, deffinately recommand it!More

I've posted here before that I think this is the standout mid-range italian restaurant in Sofia, and it would be excellent in a normal city, such that it stands out all the more in Sofia; a city full of restaurants trying to far too hard...and achieving far to little. This time around, we set upstairs, adjacent the stairwell, from where it was sheer delight looking downstairs to see the chef making our pasta a few minutes after we ordered! Doesn't get fresher than that. Additionally, the service was exceptional - friendly, knowledgeable, multilingual and respectful.More

A great combination of shop and a restaurant. Excellent food, accompanied with great Italian wines and tasty dishes.

My under 12 year daughter and myself had to wait for literally 45 minutes for a standard menu spaghetti dish. There were 2 waiters - a totally newby girl and a male one that was slamming fridge doors, acting rude to fellow waiter and customers....While we LOVE the other La Bottega restaurants, such as La bottega Centro and La Bottega L'Anglo, the Due Pianni is a definite NO GO. P.S. Yes the glass of wine was on the house, but the way it was delivered DOES not make for your lousy performance today!More
