Very good food indeed for a very reasonable price. Just be warned: the portions are huge! Unless there was a mix-up, my small cold platter was huge and could have easily fed two people, especially as it came with some delectably warm and fresh bread. All in all, an excellent dining experience and I’m pleased the waiter boxed up the remainder of it so I could have it for dinner. :)

We originally intended to visit another place, but due to certain circumstances we decided to visit Dzenita 1970 (it was est. in 1970). So we sat at a table and one of the two waiters gave us menu cards. First of all: You should be a bit patient. There are a lot of guests to be served and two waiters are a bit too optimistic. But they tried their best and were friendly. I ordered: Grilled Vegetables Livno Cheese Ajvar Tufahaja Tea (Caj) The Tea was served fast, but I exspected a Black Tea instead of a Fruit Tea. Anyways, the next course was waiting. The food in general was decent and had a nice price-value. The Livno Cheese to be praised here. The Tufahaja order was forgotten by the waiter, but promptly served after a reminder. All in all: Neatish, solid food without any fanciness and a good price-performance-ratio.

Excellently located in the smaller streets of the old town, this gem serves excellent local food - we had a bosnian pot, klepe (dumplings), prsut (bosnian cured meat) but the absolute highlight was the ustipci (savoury doughnuts) which were light and fluffy. The restaurant has a good range of local beers and rakija. It's very busy so recommend reserving or turning up early to avoid disappointment

This is yet another restaurant affected by mass tourism and greed. The food was completely tasteless, under seasoned (the potatoes in the "lešo teletina" were hard and undercooked and the "klepe" were dry and lacking the typical "sauce". There are two waiters who handle ~20 tables and we waited about 40 minutes to pay after finishing dinner. When you do finally pay, you are issued a hand written bill with some prices being higher than what is advertised on the menu. More importantly, the idea behind the hand written bill is evasion of taxes. The restaurant thereby avoids paying the 17% tax to the state (UTAJA POREZA), which is used for all sorts of benevolent purposes. If you eat here, ask for "fisaklni račun" (official bill).

I visited this restaurant with a friend who is vegetarian . He ordered the stuffed mushrooms and a plate of cauliflower salad . I ordered chicken fillets in mushroom sauce . My friends arrived first and the mushrooms were tasty - the cauliflower salad was basically various frozen veg cold thawed out and put on a lettuce leaf . They weren’t nice ! He had nearly finished when mine came , it wasn’t what I ordered it was dry chicken fillet with chips mustard and raw onion . I sent it back and it was eventually re delivered with sauce on top but it was stone cold . To be fair they apologised and gave us a free dessert which was baklava with a filling of Christmas mince meat and chocolate ice cream - yuk . Because my friend enjoyed the mushrooms , and it’s a struggle to get vegetarian food , we thought we’d give it another try a couple of nights later . Big mistake . This time the mushrooms were raw and cold probably a flash grill for a few seconds . The moral of the story is no second chances and what you order is not always what you get !

We waited about 30 minutes to order, the waiters were called a couple of times, but it was all in vain. The place wasn't even half full. We left without consuming, such attitudes are intolerable as far as I'm concerned

Well I think 30 minutes from sitting down, watching the couple next to us eat 2 courses before we even got a drink!!! I would have left, husband more patient than me, but when you see people arrive 10 mins after you, ordering at the same time getting their drinks served you’ve clearly been forgotten ask staff, off they go then serve others . Ok it happens but apologise and put it right, nope! Still had to wait while others got served before we got our drinks and food served to the other table mentioned above!! SHOCKING absolutely!! Was the food worth the wait. Not really it was average.

We get sit in this restaurant randomly because we were hungry (obvious). But from the moment we had sit and the moment we left no one came to take our order. Only one guy say far away « I’m coming » but nothing happen then. I believe that the food is good but from my perspective, you need the duration of Lord of Ring 3 episodes from to order the food until paying the bill!

Typical restaurant, in the city center with tables inside and outside. The staff was friendly and courteous. Extensive menu, with various courses, to appreciate that make even half portions and that next to each dish is written the weight of the same. Cheap prices. Very good food

This spot is everything you want in Sarajevo. The waiters, the service, and most importantly the food was great! The restaurant gives you a nice view of the bypassing people on the street, while you get to enjoy a nice Bosnian coffee and a delicious meal. We’ve come for 2 days in a row on our 4 day trip, that says enough. The restaurant has been here since 1970, we understand why! This is a must-go spot for all the people who want to enjoy Sarajevo!

We ate 2 klepe, 1 hadzijski cevap and 1 sogan dolma. Everything was very tasty. The hadzijski cevap was the tastiest food I’ve had in Bosnia during my 7 day trip. It’s really an explosion of flavours and the right amount of salt. 10/10, would recommend.

A friend and I went here with a local who stated that Dzenita had authentic Bosnian food despite its location in a touristy part of town. We each had a dish that came with a variety of Bosnian foods, which was followed by a platter with ÄŤevapi. Everything was great. We finished things off with baklava that included a fruit in it; ehh... a more traditional baklava would have been better! Overall, though a great meal!

It is a very rude establishment. You go in with your family and sit at an empty table. A rude employee comes from there and says that the table is reserved and removes you from the table. If it is reserved, why don't you put the note? Their attitude was very rude. The food is expensive and bad by Bosnian standards.

First day in Sarajevo, first experience with traditional Bosnian food. We recommended it the owner of our apartment and it was quite a success. Rustic decoration in the heart of the city. Our super attentive and friendly waiter (sorry, I didn't ask his name) and delicious dishes. Between two we share Ajvar (a kind of roasted pepper pâté), Dolma Noose (onions filled with minced meat and rice) and Ćevapčići (the traditional sausages served inside a pita bread and with raw onions). Of course, we ended up with a Bosnian coffee (similar to Turkish but not the same) and a glass of pear Rakia (the local spirit). We'll be back!!!

I was searching on the internet for a restaurant known for traditional Bosnian food, and I came across DĹľenita. At first, there was no one in the restaurant because it was so hot outside. That's why we got our food quickly. The food was delicious. The waiter was a young guy, and he was friendly. As a greeting, he invited us to visit again.
