About
Kuchmistr serves an excellent selection of Belarusian / Lithuanian dishes most of which date back to the times of glory of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, both of its brave gentry and hard-working peasants, not forgetting about local Jewish and Tartar culinary traditions. The surroundings are swish, the service is friendly and there’s a strict no-smoking policy which plenty of visitors will no doubt enjoy in a city where smoking in public is practically enforced. Don’t forget to have a glass of vodka flavoured with horseradish or bison grass while you’re waiting - or try our fantastic tasting set of 6 self-made liquors and 3 soft drinks.

Great food, good atmosphere. A little spendy, but it is a tourist restaurant and prices were not outrageous. Be prepared to wait as everything seems to be made fresh. Will return.

We found this restaurant on Tripadvisor, trusted the reviews and r=enjoyed it a lot. Especially horseradish vodka, unexpectedly really tasty! the portions were not too big but tasty, the staff very friendly and helpful, there was live folk music as well. We appeared without reservation...but we managed to get seats at the bar. It was the best dinner in Minsk.More

Thanks a lot! Well, appearing without reservation may be tricky - as you see, we are not a big restaurant, and sometimes overcrowded. We always recommend advance booking, let us use your review as one more pretext for reminding. Sorry for having seated you at...More

What is there really to add to this fine Belorussian ( with Polish/Lithuanian roots). We were quickly seated by the kind hostess. The place was packed. It seems to me it is always like that. We kicked off with a glass of Georgian wine. The...blonde waitress was an absolute delight. very helpful and kind. As appetizers we had the aubergine rolls and draniki, the tasty potato dish. We proceeded with a stew served in a pot and the Lithuanian beef medallions. All dishes were very tasty and generous portions. At one stage they thought we had already left, as my glasses were on the table, but I was outside getting some fresh air as it was very hot inside (as everywhere else in Minsk) my table partner was in the loo so waitress and hostess came outside and saw me to hand over glasses. I recommend this restaurant and would certainly return.More

Traditional food for the region with meats, sausage, potato pancakes and dumplings. Not many vegetarian options. Not sure about vegan offerings. Waitress was extremely helpful and spoke very good English. Vodka sampler was interesting and tasty. Hot plate appetizers heavy on liver and pork sausage....I had onion potato dumplings. My table mates enjoyed Borsch and meat dishes. They enjoyed their meals. Food was heavy! We didn’t get to enjoy dessert! Plan on a long walk afterwards to burn it all off! Very quaint restaurant!!More

I enjoyed everything about this restaurant. The Staff and service was wonderful, the traditional Belorussian food tasted great, and the restaurant interior and decor is designed with a rustic, Belorussian feel. I particularly liked how there were two women playing dulcimers. Their lovely music really...added to the experience! I'd certainly return to this restaurant.More

Will definitely be back. Just as well it closes at 11 otherwise i may have missed my flight!!!!!!More

nice belarus style restaurant with a lot of stuff on the menu. They have some nice dishes like dumplings, stews, etc. the waiter told us not to take the dish called ‚hot taste menu‘ containing tje rather boring things like sausages, ham drainilo etc. They...have many interesting things on the menu so be brave and order some less common things. Service was friendly and there was live music.More
