A delightful setting on northern beach. Spectacular sunset the night we were there. Great menu and friendly efficient service. A nice place for couples and they do have a children's menu but I would leave them (the kids) at home.

OUr second visit and lived the atmosphere, the food and the service. Think the service & food is better at Little Polynesia but we still had a great night here.

Nice restaurant - food was ok for Rarotonga. Service not bad. Dessert Creme Brulee - was liquid and the top sank into the liquid so not so good. but overall quite pleasant

We are completely in shock at the rave reviews for Tamarind House. I even checked to see if we had gone to the wrong establishment, as our experience was so different to recent reviews. Service was average, checking 3x what we ordered and still getting...some of it wrong. Only had one type of white wine in stock by the glass and it was not great. Ate calamari for starter, which was just okay. Two seconds after entree was finished Mains were placed on the table, like we were being rushed through. Mains we had lamb shank and steak. Lamb was a better taste, but still not fabulous. Steak was terrible, it initially came out covered in mushroom sauce (which I didnt order) then came back absolutely swimming in pepper sauce, to kill the taste of the mushroom sauce that had been scraped off. Really disappointed that we wasted our last night in Rarotonga by going here. So many better places to eat.More

Really nice place and the food was great. Service was a little slow we thought this time. If they had been better we prob would have spent a lot more on drinks. To be fair they had just changed hands that week and were settling...in. Really nice place for fine dining food and cocktails. Would go backMore

Wife and I had a beautiful meal at Tamarind House. Rib eye steak cooked to perfection, and the Fish Curry was the best I have ever eaten. Awsome staff, and beautiful outlook. Due to opening up again after covid, booking in advance is essential at...all the restaurants in the Cook Islands.More

Had a dinner here with four people (two couples) and was really impressed. Great, attentive service and amazing food. We had a mixture of seafood and curry dishes, with every one being 5 out of 5. Would definitely recommend!

The Tamarind Team really helped us organise my birthday in Rarotonga (we are in NZ). Writing to them to organise everything was very helpful knowing that the there was a supportive team at the other end willing to help. The night was beautiful; food was...even better and service was superb. Thank you Team.More

We learned the hard way that booking dinner is essential in Rarotonga post-COVID (staff shortages etc) and booked in our family of three adults, 1 child 1 infant for dinner at this restaurant. It is a beautiful place- unexpectedly so! With a gorgeous open air...dining room and sunset views. Best vegetarian options on the island so far , with the salad absolutely delicious. A few things to be aware of, this is a fine dining restaurant (a little different than most other places we’ve been) and while kids are welcomed (toys, kids menu, high chair) it’s very much an adult place and very quiet and atmospheric. Lots of outdoor space for kids to play but we would probably only go back without the kids. Service was very slow (1.5 hours before mains arrived) which is another tricky thing with kids (could be post COVID staffing) but very very warm and kind. Overall one of the best places to eat on the island - we will be back!More

Let down by another restaurant, we, a party of 4 were able to he squeezed into TH even though they were extremely busy……sometimes one is impressed by the food or the service or the ambience but when everything comes together perfectly and then topped off...with an unexpected dollop of pure kindness in the form of aloe vera for sunburn was added…. it was just magical!!!! Thank you, thank you……….. if we were here longer we would definitely return……….More
