We visited Rarotonga a couple of weeks ago and found the Whatever Bar closed for renovation, so we went for a beer at Trader Jacks. When we talked to the locals they informed us that the Whatever Bar will be opening soon and with a new name. It will probably be called "On the Rocks". Looking at the location of... More

My local haunt when in Raro was closed so was gutted! Undergoing a major refit but found out that the owners of the land hiked the lease so forced the original owners out so has been taken over by someone with some money i'd say. Going to have a bar downstairs & upstairs but upstairs looks covered over so no... More

We went for a drink. The place was dirty and staff unfriendly. We were hungry but would not dare eat here. Would not recommend

On our second trip to Raro a visit to Whatever Bar was a must for us, we were gutted to find out that is no longer operating, even though it is still in various advertising around the place.

Again we went to this place - this time with our children 17, 13 & 11. The first time it was just for a drink and then we returned on Christmas Eve for Lunch. great food - amazing flavours and the drinks are always good. The Staff are super friendly and it is relaxing and you never feel rushed. Kids... More

Staff lovely but place tired with ripped sun umbrella and dodgy stairs. Really shabby, food was ok but not a healthy choice. Ok if you like fried foods. Needs some major upgrading as felt like in a back street dodgy bar and I am no means a snob.

We visited several times for lunch and were never disappointed. We also went for dinner on a Wednesday night when they had a live local band. The food was always excellent and the service was friendly and helpful. Its one of the main reasons for us to revisit 'Raro'.

This is a great little pub/bar/restaurant right on the waterfront in downtown Avarua. We got there about 5:15 for a feed however found that the kitchen wasn't open until 6. But, without any hesitation the barman offered to call in the chef a bit early. Although we said that it was no problem as we could sit around and have... More
