La Cocina is the perfect spot for a good, relaxed meal. My sister and I wanted good food, not too pricey and lively atmosphere. this fit the bill perfectly. We went on a Thursday night in August at 9pm and were seated right away at a bar table, the rest of the place was packed. I had a petite entrecote... More

This restaurant was recommended to us by a local who said it was one of his favorite restaurants in Montevideo. Everything was delicious, well-prepared and beautifully presented. The staff was attentive and helped us choose a lovely bottle of Uruguayan wine. The vegetarian mushroom risotto was incredibly creamy and flavorful. The atmosphere is well lit with low lighting and candles,... More

After some ok. dinners and a few not so ok dinners it was a pleasure to find La Cocina de Pedro. Not only was the atmosphere and attendance friendly, but the chef sent out an appetizer when he discovered we had been there a bit too early. The meal was memorable and much superior to the more well known and... More

Being here several times, always came back to have a family or a friends dinner. Nice place, good food and good service and the price is not that high to Montevideo standards. Can get really crowded on the weekends so reservation is a good idea. Overall a good restaurant.

The service was fine and friendly, the ambiance pleasant, but the meat was not what we dreamt Uruguayan beef to be. I myself had lamb, which definitely wasn't tender enough. The desert (apple pancake) was tasty, but a trifle too sweet.

"La Cocina de Pedro" is one of the best restaurant I've ever eaten. We went there to celebrate my dad's birthday. We had excellent food and then the waiter came with a mini brownie with a birthday candle. I recomend the sea rissotto, it's delicious, and on fridays they offer 2x1 drinks (daikiris and caipiroskas are the best).

I had lamb and its was truly delicious. But the waitress was not as kind as I could expect, I had to pay for her services twice (!!!) and I did not receive the discount the government of Uruguay offer to tourists in Uruguay if they pay using credit cards.

I ate here a few times in February while living in Montevideo for the month. I'd say the food was a bit on the pricey side, but they had a vegetarian mushroom risotto that I went back twice for. This place was great for a quiet lunch by yourself.

I visited this parrillada saturaday afternoon. The required waiting time for a table without reservation was about 20 min, clearly explained by the staff. We were offered a drink while waiting in a nice living room style area. The place was completely full, our table was not the best, but the dinner was great. Try grilled meats! The room was... More

I was invited to La Cocina de Pedro for a friends get together. We had a window table for 5 upstairs. The dining rooms are quite big, modern setting, with lots of table. A/C room. Even when we went for dinner during a weekday in early March, there were plenty of tables full. I'd recommend making a reservation. The meat... More
