Otra is a proper parilla, and worthy of our four visits in a three week span. The Chef and his staff are all about service. The wine list is affordable and varied. Steaks and sausage are delicious. The sweetbreads are, without a doubt, spectacular.
Fantastic parrilla (grill) in quiet neighbor a fair hike from Rambla. Has locals feel. Cozy inside, sidewalk tables outside. Friendly staff. Wood fired grill. Excellent meat choices. It is well worth exploring to find this gem.
So glad we listened to the rave reviews of other travelers and booked our last dinner in Montevideo here. The owner was so welcoming to everyone who walked through the doors. We enjoyed a fabulous rib eye steak and salad. Perfect! Wines by the glass...were very nice and service was excellent.More

This is an authentic Parrilla which is located away from the touristy area of old town & closer to an area where some of the embassy’s are. We visited there at lunchtime. Arrived early ?(12:30) so good choice for seating. The service was good, the...wine (Tanner) was fabulous. The two appetisers (tomato salsa & chimichurri) were nice to. We ordered Entranya which was wonderful; as was the baked potato with Rockford cheese. By the end of our meal the place was very busy - a great vibe & very enjoyable lunchMore
This place was recommended to us and it did not disappoint. We arrived at lunchtime and it was quiet but it got busier after 1pm. Entranya meat was great - huge portions and I enjoyed the baked potato with Roquefort as a side dish. The...tannat wine is really good accompaniment. As it was off the beaten track it was not full of tourists. Worth a visit.More
This restaurant is off the beaten path for tourists, but it is heavily trafficked by locals. Uruguay is known for its beef and this restaurant grills it over open flamed grills. It is outstanding; the servings are large so come hungry. The menu is in...Spanish, but they do have an English menu available if you ask. The wait staff is leisurely, waiting primarily on your sign that you are ready so be assertive. Eating here was a unique experience that couldn't be replicated by eating in a touristy restaurant.More
