Welcome to La Pulperia, a family business that already has 20 years offering a unique place to eat the traditional food of Uruguay. We are a small place but with very warm atmosphere, a spectacular food, and a friendly and attentive staff. We have a place to eat inside the premises and a few tables just outside for those who like to be outdoors. A True Local Experience

Beautifully rustic with a welcoming atmosphere created by the grill (Braai) as the center of attention. The food is created in its honest form, delicious and tender. Simple is the best! Our highlight of Montevideo

The best place I've been in Montevideo! It is a small restaurante with tables around the sidewalk. Meat is really great, beer is really cold! You can't miss it but it is a small and simple place. Don't expect a premium service: it is a place to eat and drink very well!

I was walking near the hotel I was staying and I saw this little resto/parrilla on a corner that was packed. I decided to give it a chance and I wasn't disappointed. The first time I went I had to wait 45min to get a table. But it was worth it. The meat was excellent and the side dish was... More

This place lives for meat. It is a small place that accepts only cash and has a rather small card, but what is on it is heavenly! The meat is perfect and all is for a great value. Come early and sit outside as inside it can get really hot. We waited until a table got free outside. A wonderful... More

Great Parrilla in Montevideo. Amazing meat and great prices. A classic Uruguay restaurant at a great price.

Had great food at the bar. Beer was ice cold and servers were very nice. Arrive early if you want to sit outside. Would definitely come back.

Awsome place for the real uruguayan barbacue experience. Last time we basically only ordered "achuras", meaning kidney (riñon), sweetbread (mollejas), blood sausage (morcilla), intestine (chinchulín). all very good quality and expertly prepared, right in front of you. we ate straight in front of the parrilla (bbq) and watched the asador prepare everything. It was hot, really hot, but worthwhile. No... More

Good meat , not expensive. Very small restaurant, with great meat. No credit card. There are a few tables (outside) and you eat at the bar in front of the Parrilla!

I didnt lett the cramped seating or steam bath inside influence my review. I score them highly for the rustic decor/ambience and for the friendly wait staff who seemed to be browneaten by a squatty asador- but the meat quite simply didnt cut it really overtough and consistently ovrcooked even after 3 chances. south american parilla should be a combo... Very small and simple restaurant that cooks great Uruguayan meat. Prices are fair but they do not accept credit cards. Make sure you bring Uruguayan pesos or you could have a bad news at the end... they gave us a -25% rate on Brazilian reais... a reap off!
