Centrally located, just off Plaza Independencia, is this charming coffee shop. Welcoming staff are always smiling. The tortas, salads and empanadas are delicious. Prices are very reasonable and the service is excellent. Don’t miss the desserts.
I have been here in Montevideo already more than 3weeks and tried many different restaurants, bistro and cafes but till now I like Raspini the most! All the dishes there are always perfectly cooked, a very healthy and good combination with veggies, potatoes, pumpkins and...mushroom! You’ll find here that Uruguay is indeed a meat country so they don’t usually serve steak with some nice side dishes, ie meshed potatoes, creamy spinach etc but this restaurant knows what to be served with their main dishes!
They have today’s menu and it includes beverage and dessert 🍮! The price is also very reasonable. An amazing hidden place must go!More
This was the culinary highlight of my (ok, short) Montevideo trip. I found it by total chance upon returning to hotel on last night; you will laugh but it was after I did a round of looking for nice cakes place, tried few (from T-A...and G) and found NONE tempting. but this small place... it has some amazing things. I immediately saw it looks good so spoiled myself with flan (oh my god!!), a great brule - and also a chicken empenada. Not my typical choice, empenada, but it looked good - and was great. In short, I looked for it in morning before flight but it was closed (Saturday), which was maybe lucky since I ended up almost missing flight due to crazy story with problem getting taxi/uber, but that's unrelated. You like sweet stuff?? Go there!!More
