I saw barnacles at A&G and decided I had to try them. I got to the restaurant, only saw one dish (fiesta del mar) with 'percebes' (barnacles). When ordering, I asked whether we could order them independently, they said yes, but I went ahead and...ordered the whole fiesta del mar. The dish came -- without barnacles. I asked them why there weren't any, and the guy said they didn't have any today. Why would you tell me 30 minutes prior (when I ordered) that you had them and then so blatantly admit to not having any when my food arrives?! Then, the man goes to ask his supervisor about something, then comes back, essentially saying nothing. We waste 15 mins+ doing this which is significant since when I sat down I said I needed to leave after an hour and they said no problem. This means we were 45 minutes into the hour. There is more back and forth between the man and his supervisor, taking up even more time and at this point I don't understand what they are talking about since they keep coming back to add absolutely nothing, only continuing to tell me that they don't have them today. Why are you wasting more of my time to repeat the same thing time after time? There was no service here, it was essentially them telling me that yes, we don't have them, so what? I was frustrated and didn't even know why we were sitting there when we had to go but when I voiced the frustration they had no sympathy. My partner even asked whether the waiter could understand and he looked absolutely appalled that we were frustrated at the situation. The conversation was going absolutely nowhere and he started taking the plates with the food to take back so we got up and left. On our way out, the manager stopped us and asked what happened and when we explained the situation he had no sympathy saying that it was the SEA'S problem that they didn't have them, not their's. I would understand this if it was a daily catch or something, but when you explicitly write out the word PERCEBES on your menu and then I ask and you say that you have them, it's YOUR problem. He was not even mildly apologetic which was an absolute joke. I would never go back here since the service was appalling and had no problem management skills. Food is only part of the experience, terrible service can completely ruin the experience, like mine.More

I had made a booking for 100 sharp, they sent me a message informing me of a 15 -minute delay, we got there and NO parking! We waited till 1:40!! Nobody approached so my husband did but still uninformative. At 140 we were approached by...the hostess, just nice enough, stopped by the bar and offered a complimentary shot... I really liked it. The waiter was just fine, informed us of a couple of things and that was it. The food was regular, i have eaten at different restaurants and really had high expectations ... it is just AVERAGE food, at some point they took forever and we had to tell them that we wanted to leave. Ranking out of 5: Food 2.5 Service 3 Place: 4 Drinks: 5 Gaston has much better places: Chicha in Arequipa or Cusco or even Tanta. Nope, I wouldnt recommend it... or maybe I should have gone on a week day and order the dishes from the menu. The Brunch was not good at all.More

We had lunch in our quick trip to Lima, it was a last minute reservation, they were having great safety measurements and the lunch was just amazing, since the entry dishes to the deserts. Every single dish was a great experience. Plus we got to...meet the chef who was super friendly and kind. Gave us some a tour thought the dishes.More

I try to be very loyal to Chefs and restaurants with great service, amazing food and specially those who take care of the little details. That's what sets the restaurant apart from the other competition and get my business very regularly I booked my reservation...with A&G from the USA one month out on October 21 for a dinner in November with plenty of lead time. My assistant was detailed enough to add notes to the reservation was "celebrating a birthday for Mr. so and so...." When I arrived in Lima and personally stopped by A&G to confirm my upcoming dinner I was greeted by Carlos (Maitre D') who confirmed my booking and read out the notes about my birthday. Dinner itself was great, Champagne was amazing and Astrid herself stopped by our table to greet us with her warm smile and cheerful personality. This is the reason why I keep coming back and flying down from the USA to dine with A&G first before any other Lima restaurants. At the end of our dinner the server brought out the dessert that he recommended and a separate smaller individual one for me but none of them had a candle not even written on the plate "Happy Birthday"/ "Feliz Cumpleanos" on them. I am not asking them to group sing Feliz Cumpleanos (COVID-19 safety protocols) I am merely asking them as the level of restaurant they are and respected in South America to be detailed oriented and acknowledge a reservation note of celebrating a "BIRTHDAY" and not go about it as if nothing happened at the end when I paid and left the restaurant. I am extremely dissapointed with my experiences with A&G and LA MAR CEVICHERIA LIMA, (LA MAR brand is part of the ACURIO GROUP) LA MAR lost my lunch reservation scheduled for Saturday November 7th I would like to be coming back and supporting A&G I love the food but when I travel close to 4,000 miles to celebrate a once a year dinner in Lima and details are forgotten or completely overlooked by the Management, Maitre D' or Pastry Chefs it is a big turn off.More

This meal met and surpassed all expectations! We chose this restaurant for dinner and also had the wine pairing. It is expensive but the value is SO worth it! The food was beyond amazing but even better was the presentation at the table. It was...interactive and entertaining. The wine pairing was nice and was a lot of wine! I would absolutely recommend this restaurant and hope to return some day.More

It is expensive - the 15 course tasting meal was about $200 USD/person....but well worth the splurge!
