We had a nice lunch last week at Astrid y Gaston ( 3 of us ). We ordered churros de trucho as piqueos. Dumpling de gallina de madrugada, pulpo al olivo, cause del mar as entrada and cola de pescado ( we wanted to order...pez diablo entero but it was not available, what a disappointment ) All in all the food were good. The churros de trucho was very very very small. The pulpo al olivo was ok, I've had better and tastier pulpo al olivo in another small restaurant. All 3 of us find out that the food were very salty especially the dumpling de gallina. Other than that the food were good. The attention was top notch. For drinks we opted for the non alcoholic drinks Trepador and the Fresca Luisa , they are very delicious and very refreshing, my fav one is Trepador. For desert we had the Santa Bomba... very nice a real bomb :) The restaurant itself is very beautiful , nice peaceful place to enjoy a nice meal.More

Did their a la carte menu, and was surprised by all the flavors they incorporate. services are amazing and the food is out of this world. very delicate yet very flavourful. did visit them twice for this reason. we fall in love with their service...and cuisine. our server was great, can't remember his name but he is from Venezuela. he was very knowledgeable of Peruvian cuisine and help us with our ordering decisions.More

We went last Friday night and enjoyed our meal. Perhaps fortunately we detest tasting menus and wine pairings so did not have the negative experience of others have expressed with that format. As normal we went for A la Carte We both found the flavours...and presentation excellent and not surprisingly there is a comprehensive wine list with pricing in line with other places we have been to in Peru. What made the experience for us was that Astrid and Garcon were both there. Rather impressively Astrid managed to talk to every table whilst Gaston was enjoying himself as an assistant sommelier. It's not often you get such engagement with the clientele from the founders. If in Lima we would definitely go back.More

Gone are the popping flavours and innovation of yesteryear! What hit me first was the unprofessional and crass conduct of the staff- from the doorman, who couldn’t make up his mind whether we could come in or not; giggling waiters bumping into us as we...entered and our head waiter who had as much finesse as a bad 2nd hand car dealer!! What upset me the most were the bullying tactics used by our waiter, the lady hostess and the so-called sommelier when we chose not to do the wine pairing! After telling us we had 3 options re the wine, when we chose the one they didn’t like they harassed and verbally battered us- the lady, even going as far as talking about money!!! - That I would pay more ordering by the glass!- a complete nonsense because the whole idea was that I can only drink 2 and don’t like mixing! ( not that I owed them an explanation!) However, the best part was the lady in question and her side kick sommelier downing quantities of wine INFRONT of me ( I had the best seat) several times during the evening!!!!!! I could not believe my eyes! Our waiter waxed lyrical about his drinking exploits in America , until I couldn’t hide my boredom. Food: underwhelming! Bland starters, over salted dumpling, overcooked chewy duck and a very questionable sea urchin ( could not swallow it). Nice chocolates. A thoroughly upsetting, overpriced evening and the most appalling conduct of staff. Your reputation is in tatters.More

I’m afraid this place is not what it used to be. Twelve years ago, A&G was still a pioneer in putting Peru on the culinary map; today, they are resting on their past reputation. We had the multi-course tasting menu and while only one course...was truly bad, overall it lacked the imagination and innovation that the modern competition brings. Some courses were clearly pre-prepared (in batches?!) and arrived at the table at the wrong temperature. This may be a result of the size of the restaurant or uneven service, but is nonetheless inexcusable for a top restaurant. Had this been our only “fancy” meal in Lima, we might have been moré impressed, but it paled in comparison to the top tier offerings at Central, Maido and Mayta. Perhaps the reviews recommending choosing from the a la carte menú should be heeded. In short, if you are going to splurge, do so elsewhere.More

The most overrated meal of my life. We opted for the tasting menu and I think this was a huge mistake. Before booking our reservation, I looked at pictures online and numerous dishes looked amazing. Unfortunately none of these dishes were part of our tasting...menu. I went into this meal hoping it would crack the top 10 of meals of my life and sadly it was one of the worst. If it weren't for the fantastic dessert courses at the end, I think it would have been the worst meal of my life.More

This restaurant is all its reputation says it should be. Exquisite service, setting and cuisine. I especially respected how they treated one of our number, who suffers from a gluten intolerance.

Two of us. We each got the tasting menu, and my wife got the wine pairing. it was a three-hour experience that is hard to put into words. Plate after plate after plate. A total of 15. Seafood, tubers, pork, sweets, etc. it was great.

Had dinner at Astrid & Gaston restaurant in Miraflores Lima and it was a great culinary experience. Starting with the beautiful setting at refurbished colonial mansion painted in white. Interior is also pretty, with tropical indoor plants hanging from the ceiling. Started with a Peruvian...Ceviche Mixto White fish & shrimp, made to perfection in a sophisticate manner. The selección of bread made by Mrs Astrid was exquisite. Main course was Sea Bass baked, with a tasty sauce (capers?). Selección of wine was good. However, went for a Pisco sour. In summary it was great dinner. Very surprised that Astrid & Gaston, once #36 best of 50 restaurants in World is not longer in that select groupMore

On my first visit to Astrid y Gastón I was disappointed, perhaps because my expectations were very high. I must admit that my second visit was very different and superior to the first. The attention was excellent, and all the chosen dishes were delicious.
