Took my (older) teenage kids to have a fine dining experience in Lima, which is now considered a foodie destination... we picked Malabar as our first dinner venue to sample some of the local and regional cuisine, all of which was new to us. The food at Malabar is fantastic - interesting, flavorful, exquisitely presented and original. We tried a... More

To make things short: The best vegetarian Ceviche I've had, my boyfriend had the best pulpo of his life there. It's just impossible to get such a pulpo anywhere in Europe. We had a wonderful time, everything perfect and at a reasonable price (for European standards)

Was totally disappointed. First we had to wait at least 30mn at the bar while the restaurant was not full. Them we waited 45mn for the entry course. The octopus was good but nothing exceptional. Then we waited another 35 mm for the main. It was not good at all. So just find another place if you want a real... More

Having tried quite a lot of different Andean food and ingredients during the past 12 days Malabar was my final stop. The restaurant is nicely decorated, the background music perfect. Service is very good. The food is 90% great. I really liked the bonito tartare with quail eggs and thought the pigeon dish was exceptional. The scallops would have been... More

Alchemists , make magic with food and traditional flavors, making combinations that are pure pleasure to taste. A small recommendation from me is to pay more attention to the service of cutlery on the table, a restaurant on this level can not neglect the small details. However I loved it.

We made a reservation at 8 p.m.but struggled to find the way in. The whole place looks closed. There is a doorman guarding the door! When inside it's a very nice ambience. Both the starters and main course were very different to the other Peru restaurants we have tried. The sauces were excellent but overpowered the seafood a little The... More

it is not the regular peruvian food, is a mix of different flavors and concepts including a lot of peruvian ingredients, I can say that is one the best places I have ever ate in Lima.

Malabar is rated as one of the top 50 South American restaurants. It was worthy of the distinction, and the food was very much fit for foodies! They do have a great bar and mixologist, so definitely get your drinking on here! The prices were actually quite reasonable compared to similar restaurants in the USA. We actually expected a much... My wife and I went there to have dinner. I placed a reservation and they were very explicit for me to be sharp on time and that I had a 15 mins time frame to be there. we got to malabar and time, hoping to seat on the table right away. they made us wait for 30 mins and only... More
