Whilst Victoria’s Bar in Barranco is perceived to be at the top end for comfort , ambience etc,
they failed to provide WiFi as well as charging 55 Peruvian Sols for one gin and tonic.
The athmosfere and interior design is great.
Service, food and beveragre needs to improve.
The menu it has a lot of hand's made writtings, the waitress was not updated about the drinks on it, many of the drinks offered were not available (many like half...of them!!!)
Waitress was lost about what to recommend. No info about the bar offer.
Food is expensive and not good at all considering you're Lima, and the gastronomy is so good on here, even the simple local markets food.
When we got the cocktails (very expensive cocktails) it taste like just juice, no gin or whisky or pisco on it.
I'll not recommend this bar for more than a beer and keep going.More
Terrible cocktails and absolutely no decent way of taking care of customers. A group of friends of mine and I got there to celebrate a birthday, but we had to look for the service and the Negroni was not good. Sad that such a nice...place is not looking for ots services anymore.More
The ground of the Victoria are amazing. Nestled into cozy nooks are comfortable tables and pretty plants. Our first visit we had a really young waitress and she was completely clueless. Our next visit we had a great young man who was awesome.Decent drink prices...and I did not see or eat any food so I cannot speak to that.More
Had a strange visit to this cafe today with my wife and three year old son.
From the street this place looks impressive. We went in and were seated at a table. I took my son to the toilets which were pretty average (seat falling...off and lid not attached) which in order to walk into, we went past what appeared to be the outside kitchen.
I could not see the whole kitchen but it looked fairly covered in grime from what I could see.
We decided just to get drinks and to get my son a bottle of water.
The waiter came to our table with the bottle of water and it was apparent that it was a refill from a tap, not straight from the factory as a significant amount was missing from the top and we'd had the same brand across the road the day before.
We queried this and a different waiter who spoke English came out and kept moving the bottle from hand to hand covering the lid and putting the bottle on its side so we couldn't see the full amount of water but in the end agreeing to change bottles.
He walked off in a different direction to where the first waiter had come from, to come back 30 seconds later with the same brand of water we suspected was just topped up with tap water and he was keen to open the water himself, not have us open it.
On tasting the water prior to our 3 year old son having it, it appeared to be tap water so we paid s/5 for it so as to not have any hassles and cancelled our other drinks, which they wanted us to pay for but we declined.More
normal high prices for drinks but its still cheaper than in the US. No places to dance if there are a lot of people. its mostly oustside and has limited parking, which you shouldn't drink and drive anyways lol.
Smaller than Ayahuasca and not fancy but it is trendy and great food.
Try the mini burguers and the Pisco Punch!!!!!
We tried the small lobby at the right, suggest you the tables next to the entrance if they are available.
If you want a smaller place than Ayahuasca to hang out with friends or get to know a date then this is the place. There's not as much activity as Ayahuasca but a great place to sit and talk and hang out as long as...you want. Beautiful renovated old mansion and good place to people watch.More
