Excellent Japanese food, no faults at all, and very good value for money. We had sushi, gyoza, maki rolls, cones and about 5 bowls of the ginger! Like many other excellent restaurants I have been to in Lima, this blows some of the more top end restaurants in London way out of the water. If only they had them in... More

It is an excellent restaurant! The food is magnificent! Everything they do is so fresh! From the sea to the table! The owner Toshiro is the best Japanese chef in Peru! Try Sushi rolls especially the "Inka Maki", premium sashimi (fatty tuna is the best), grilled shrimp, an eggplant dish to die for, scallops are a delicacy. Always outstanding! A... More

Wasn't expecting this to be inside the Mandalay casino, but it's pretty tucked away so it doesn't feel like a casino. Don't say I didn't warn you haha. Food: - Philadelphia roll: tasty & fresh salmon, avocado and cream cheesy, but wasn't a big fan of the sushi rice: wasn't as sticky and flavorful as I'd like - Nabeyaki udon:... More

Good: Uses fresh ingredients, this is key for best results. Their chirashi is one of the best in Lima, but nothing spectacular in my humble opinion (I had plenty and better in Japan and in the USA). Bad: Soba noodles are ok but the hot soup they use taste like soy sauce. Feel free to skip this dish until they... More

I went here with a load of Japanese colleagues a few times. They all thought it was very good, so that's an indication. It's not really nikkei and mainly does standard Japanese food. I thought it was very nice indeed. Not a particularly amazing experience, but good food. The location is a bit odd - above a slot machine casino... More

My third visit to Toshiro's, which is housed above a not very elegant slot machine parlour. However don't let the exterior put you off, inside is fine and the food is great. Toshiro is a former colleague of Nobu and this is a bit like the food in Nobu but at a fraction of the price. The staff clearly enjoy... More

No wonder this place is empty - there is far better Japanese-Peruvian fusion sushi to be had in Lima (e.g. Edo). The fish was not fresh (especially the caviar and the tuna) and we both felt sick after our meal. The presentation was good - more classical Japanese than Peruvian fusion. The maki rolls were gluggy and dominated by mayonnaise... More

If you like or ever heard about the famous Nobu restaurant, it's worth to try this one. Toshiro has the skill to combine classic Japanese dish with some Peruvian ingredients. We spend a day there in March 2012 for business lunch. When we arrived we ask for the house recommended set menu and since Mr.Toshiro was seating nearby our table,... More
