Came for dinner as it was close to our accomodation. Looks very small on entering but has a lovely dining space upstairs. The food was delicious we had the alpaca steak (cooked perfectly) and the home made pasta with trout followed by the quinoa mousse...and strawberries in spiced port. The portions were good and the flavour in every dish was excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful even though my Spanish is terrible. It was a very pleasant quiet meal out, a little off the main centresMore
The most important piece of advice is: careful as you walk out of the restaurant into Recoleta street, or you may be mercilessly hit by a car!
That said, the restaurant does have an air of simplicity and that is a major compliment; the problem...is that it clashes with its prices, a bit too much for what it offers - 20 soles for soup and 40 soles for alpaca is pretty much!
The soups are freshly made and taste wonderfully, toasts come as a side; there are also sandwiches and desserts.
The waitress is really friendly and most willing to improve her English with guests; wifi is also available.
All that said, there is a je ne sais qua missing there but nothing that prevents an okay or even good experience.More
This is another place in Cusco I was excited to try based on previous reviews. It turned out to be a somewhat underwhelming experience...
The alpaca burger was juicy, however the meat was heavily salted (maybe to hide the taste of the Alpaca meat!)... the...pasta was tasty - but undercooked. We sent it back and they happily remade it. The second time was cooked fine and very tasty. Salad was fresh but lacked any real dressing / flavour.
Service was fine, but they were clearly busy / rushed with only a couple of staff...
The bottom line: an OK dining experience, but lacking any wow factor.More
Delicious food - from the starters, to the main course and dessert, it was simply perfect! Small place, fresh ingredients and surprising plates/combinations of food (close to haute cuisine), super friendly staff. We went there twice and thinking about going there tomorrow :-)
We were staying nearby and found this small restaurant, with freshly cooked, delicious food on our first night. We enjoyed chicken, alpaca and steak and could see the chefs preparing these freshly for us. The dinner was reasonably priced and the waitress very friendly. We...would highly recommend!More
I was greeted with a big smile and given a table decorated with flowers and a candle. The atmosphere was lovely and the waitress was very friendly and helpful. I had the lamb ribs which were really tasty. I happened to be there at a...quiet time (a group of 6 left as I was ordering and another 3 groups of 2 arrived as I was leaving) so I was lucky enough to have great chat with the waitress. I enjoyed my food and felt at home eating alone.More
We loved our meal here. There was a group of eight of us. We had pasta, soups and garlic breads. They also had good Chiliean wine. The staff were super friendly. Great service. Would thoroughly recommend.
