I spent a week in Peru with my son and his wife, traveling to multiple locations. Of the ~15 meals we enjoyed in Peru, all of them outstanding, the two meals we ate at Hanz were the most extraordinary. Dayo, the cooks and the waitstaff treated us to great food, beer, dessert, value, and most appreciated, great hospitality. Hanz would be my regular hangout if I lived in Cusco.

Nice quaint restaurant with a second floor view to La Plaza de Armas en Cusco. Customer service is excellent! When we entered, we were greeted by a gentleman (very friendly and spoke English) who offered wifi in a little LEGO dog platter, and water (very rare to find in restaurants in Peru)!
We originally wanted to hang out for drinks because of their beer selections and eat at another restaurant we enjoyed a few days before. The gentleman recommended a specialty drink that included native fruits from the Amazon rainforest. The specialty drink was delicious and had a very unique taste. We were offered potato chips(Peruvian potatoes) and offered a table to relax. After hanging out and enjoying the beautiful succulent/plant friendly place for some time, we decided to eat here. Glad we did!
While awaiting our food, we were offered bread, and complimentary potato stuffed with meat, and chimichurri sauce. Our table ordered a salmon dish with a delicious asparagus puréed sauce, risotto lomo saltado, and an olluquito (Peruvian potato) con queso soup.
We all finished our food, I’ll leave my food review at that :-).
We ordered an expresso and alfajores (cookie pastry) with lucuma filling for dessert. We were wondering what was taking so long, and why they gave us a utensil and each of us a big plate, and when the gentleman came to our table with additional sweets, we all laughed because of how much care and how great their customer service is. Very great experience for us, and we are grateful for stumbling upon this wonderful location. Thank you Hanz staff!

We came here for my husbands 30th birthday and the staff, particularly Luis, went all out to make the night special for him.
Just ate so much food! The restaurant gave us a free meatball starter, extra free homemade still warm bread and dip, and we think an upsized cocktail and an extra free desert cake AND two chocolates. Oh and free tasters of beer. It was an expensive dinner by South America standards but it was all lovely and the people were really good for service.
We ordered 3 cocktails, two mains and a desert. The duck plate was absolutely delicious and the Peruvian dessert platter was interesting, they even explained what was what on the plate which is surprising for south America. The only negative comment was that the lamb shank that I had was a bit overcooked and had become quite dry, not fall off the bone as it should be. But you think of some parts like jerky and it was yummy haha.
The free desert came out with a candle and the staff sang happy birthday, my husband's name was even written in 3d white chocolate sticking out the top of the cake. We took the second desert home because we were far too full to eat anything else.
With the check came two little chocolates which were also placed to go for us.
For all that we paid 211soles. Not cheap, but it is better service than I have had for that class of restaurant even in New Zealand where we would have paid about the same for that sort of meal. We tipped Luis as well, which is not normal for us New Zealanders unless the service was amazing.
Luis spoke to us in both English and then switched to Spanish when he realised that is what we wanted to speak to him about.
Really nice view over the Plaza de Armas, Fairy lights twinkling and a small restaurant. Every table I saw looked to be enjoying themselves with smiles so that was really lovely.
Really recommend.

We arrived at the restaurant pretty late due to a long trip back from machupichu. They treated us well and served us regardless. We ordered two appetizers; two entrees; two drinks and dessert. The location and place were beautiful and warm. Unfortunately our entrees were incredibly salty and completely inedible we left our plates barely touched. We didn’t feel the need to complain about this because everything else was great. The server named Rey, then asked us to write a review on trip advisor stating they wanted to be the top three restaurants in Cusco. My partner and I both felt that we could honestly give a four star review and were happy to do it. We know that good reviews mean a lot to a restaurant. The server lurked over us the entire time and when he saw that we put four stars he forced us to go back and change it to five. He said “ no why would you give us four stars I’m so sad, go back and change it to five.” This is by far the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. He held our check until he saw that we both put five stars. Super weird and intimidating for two people that aren’t from here. I can imagine that we aren’t and won’t be the only ones put in this position so I strongly suggest avoiding this place at all costs. What could have been a four star review ended up being a one star review because of how desperate this server appeared. As soon as I got to my hotel I immediately deleted the review I was forced into writing.

Tonight we decided, based on Trip Advisor reviews, to try Hanz Craft Beer Restaurant.
We were shown, by Dayo, a nice table overlooking the Plaza de Armas. Great location and very attractive space.
Dayo quickly brought us menus, beverage menus and a stuffed animal with the WiFi info around its neck.
Dayo quickly explained the special cocktails, brought a tasting flight of their craft beers and couple rolls with strawberry butter( very good).
We declined cocktails since we had just come from a Happy Hour and placed our order.
Service was good.
The octopus as a starter was excellent, tender and tasty from the grill. They gave us hot condiment and a trio of sauces. All very good.
For dinner, one order of spinach ravioli that was shaped open style and lomo risotto which was well cooked but the sauce was too rich and heavy, too much and overwhelmed the food.
We passed in dessert and were given a couple tasty comp dessert bites.
Overall good and interesting food and menu in an well decorated place with soft lighting.
As we were paying the bill it got strange. It is the first time in Peru a server ask if we wanted to add anything to the bill(tip). That’s a no-no.
Then he gave us his card in an aloof manner and pointed to his name and said we could leave a review ... as he was pointing to his name.
We finished paying and he left the bill tray in the table , I’m sure so we could place the tip. I left 10% and Dayo came over picked up the cash and put it in his pocket and left the tray without finish bussing the table. Have eaten in 1000’s of restaurants and never saw that before.
So, food good but, even though Dayo gets high marks, he was either having a bad night on a slow night or he was jaded and aloof.

Our host Dayo was friendly and welcoming from the start. This place looks right ver Cusco Plaza. Such a great location to enjoy Cusco. The food was stunning. We had a risotto and pasta only and a glass of wine and were showered with complimentary beer tasting of their craft beers, homemade bread rolls, delicious appetiser and chocolates to finish. We are returning to Cusco in a few days and definitely be returning to this restaurant

The menu is a bit pricey, however, the specials they offer are a great price (in Spanish it is called menu), well presented and tastes wonderful! The hand crafted beer is okay, but as a beer connoisseur from Ohio who loves his beer from micro breweries, this place is hard to stack up to the those. On our 20 day stay, we visited Hanz 5 times and every time we were pleasantly surprised how great the food tasted. We have a 4 month old, 2 year old and a 11 year old and they were more than accommodating to make sure our kids were happy. Ray our server was over the top making sure every single detail was on point. The service and great tasting food is what made our experience so memorable.

Blown away by the incredible service we received here from Fioula. They provide filtered water, delicious fresh bread starters and complimentary chocolate. The food was exceptional and the different condiments provided were delicious. Try the beer too!

My husband and I just had lunch at the Hanz Craft Beer restaurant, and we were blown away by the food, atmosphere, and service. This is a must if you are visiting Cusco. The view of the plaza is incredible, but the cuisine and drinks are equally as impressive. We travel frequently, and often, restaurants with great views of the tourist centers can be mediocre because you are paying for the view. This was not the case here. Every ingredient was handled with care. My husband loved their craft beer, and I had a fabulous cocktail. We tried a series of local specialties that were on our list; some of which we had not yet sampled such as cuy (guinea pig) and rocoto relleno (stuffed pepper with quinoa, cheese meat and vegetables. We also had a fabulous salad with amazingly fresh ingredients, and one of our favorite Peruvian dishes: causa (a tower of mashed potatoes topped with ceviche). Our server, Gianella, was lovely. She explained all of the dishes perfectly and she was very kind and responsive. Don’t miss this little gem. You won’t be disappointed.

I was invited by Manuel to Hanz and so am so glad that I visited because I was treated beyond any expectations and by any restaurant I have visited in years. The fine details are what made my lunch excellent. My service began with Miguel who thoughtfully anticipated my needs with a teddy bear wearing the WiFi password. He was attentive to me while also allowing me the space to return emails, and download a Cusco Walking Tour App without checking on me too many times. Ray was my waiter. What great service! I was served two items to try (that I did not order) while the chef made my brunch. When my food arrived, he was so thoughtful (as I, a tourist, traveling solo) was offered to take a photo with my meal. I only ordered the nachos, however they were explained to me with such delicacy that I felt I was eating a gourmet meal (I was). Anyway, the service was awesome, the food was awesome, and I was treated with kindness, thoughtfulness and respect. Thank you Ray and Hanz. You are definitely one of the best restaurants I have ever visited!

Dayo was a wonderful server and made sure we had a special experience. The food was AMAZING and we were delighted by every detail from the strawberry butter for the bread to the chicken tartar amuse bouche and the perfectly sized dessert courses. Great value for your money. We walked in thinking we were just going to get an appetizer and 2 entrees but dayo served us a bread course and amuse bouche plus a dessert amuse bouche in addition to our orders! The atmosphere is beautiful and thoughtful with an amazing view of the plaza de Armas. We are totally coming back!

We loved our afternoon beers and snacks at Hanz Craft Beer Restaurant. We had a balcony spot overlooking the Plaza de Armas and it was the perfect location to enjoy the community gathering below while being treated to great food and wonderful service, Our server, Ray, made us feel like family members coming home for some real care and hospitality. Our only regret was discovering this place on our last day in Cusco. We would have been repeat customers. It can be overwhelming to decide where to grab some food in this area, so don't hesitate to go and enjoy a meal at Hanz.

We made reservations for 8pm for our family, at arrival they indicated that the reservation has been delayed for 9pm. The restaurant indicated that the previous reservation had taken longer than expected, but when we entered we realized that “our table” had not even received their main course. The restaurant is not reliable and avoid it if you are not willing to change restaurant on the spot.

We went to Hanz for lunch. We ordered cuy guinea pig deep fried and alpaca burgers to share and they were able to separate into 2 portions for an easy share. Alpaca tastes like a mixture of duck, and chicken
Miguel our waiter was very friendly, and gave us an amazing service. He even gave us samples of their ales, ipa.
