We heard this place was a fun place for people new to Cuenca. we stopped by and decided to have a glass of Sangria each. $9.00 for 2 small glasses of Sangria with gritty sugar in the bottom. ??? Not returning.

I had a salad and it had some wilted greens in it, which I would not expect from a place called The Vegetable Bar. The staff were pleasant and the location is lovely. Peaceful with views of the river. Convenient to downtown.

I wish I could recommend this place as a solid vegan or vegetarian restaurant. The service and location on the river are 5 star but the food is inconsistent and weak and get a 1 Star. The lentil burger was a mushy disappointment. The Popeye...More

The new location is probably one of the best places to enjoy a meal in Cuenca! A beautiful view of the river, no buses or traffic fumes to contend with and the fool is excellent. Don't miss the Friday specials.

Well--The concept is good--but really? The ambiance doesn't strike me as veggie /organic/ healthy except for the veggie bar thing at the entrance. Frankly, the place leaves me cold. More plants, more greenery, nice music maybe?? Little' greenie-type' appetizers on the table --oh come on--...More

I tried The Vegetable Bar recently for a juice smoothie and was not disappointed. Everything was clean. The location overlooked the river so it was relaxing and pretty. The smoothie was mixed as I watched from fresh fruits and vegetables. Everything was very good.

I had a chicken pot pie that was seasoned with a cacophony of mismatched ingredients, and my tea and coffee (even liberally dowsed with sugar) was non drinkable. Too bad as the service was great.More
