We just had lu ch today at the vegetable bar. It was our first time there and we were all impressed. My husband and our guest had the turkey special. Everything was made fresh and it tasted delish! I had a big bowl of salad...that really impressed. Full of fresh ingredients and the dressing was lite but full of flavor.More

If you have any concerns about food safety, this is the place. they take painstaking efforts to clean all ingredients (each leaf of lettuce is washed individually). We visited here for lunch a number of times and were never disappointed. Simply prepared and delicious!

We heard this place was a fun place for people new to Cuenca. we stopped by and decided to have a glass of Sangria each. $9.00 for 2 small glasses of Sangria with gritty sugar in the bottom. ??? Not returning.

I had a salad and it had some wilted greens in it, which I would not expect from a place called The Vegetable Bar. The staff were pleasant and the location is lovely. Peaceful with views of the river. Convenient to downtown.

We had lunch today in EAT, one of the restaurants in the building. The decor was very nice and the music was good. The restaurant was very clean, the staff was attentive and friendly. The chef/ cook came to our table to check on our...food. The food was excellent, well prepared and had very good plate presentation. All ingredients were fresh. The pulled pork sandwich was complimented with cole slaw which matched perfectly. All other guests enjoyed their meals, we will definitely be returning.More

I wish I could recommend this place as a solid vegan or vegetarian restaurant. The service and location on the river are 5 star but the food is inconsistent and weak and get a 1 Star. The lentil burger was a mushy disappointment. The Popeye...salad was as creative as a bed of spinach, cherry tomatoes, mozzarella cheese tossed in a vinaigrette dressing. I initially enjoyed their green soup of primarily kale but when I ordered it a second time it was a brown soup made of the last vegetable on their description- carrots. Over priced on top of it.More

The new location is probably one of the best places to enjoy a meal in Cuenca! A beautiful view of the river, no buses or traffic fumes to contend with and the fool is excellent. Don't miss the Friday specials.

Thank you Mike! We are so glad you had a chance to come enjoy the view on one of Cuenca's sunny days!

Well--The concept is good--but really? The ambiance doesn't strike me as veggie /organic/ healthy except for the veggie bar thing at the entrance. Frankly, the place leaves me cold. More plants, more greenery, nice music maybe?? Little' greenie-type' appetizers on the table --oh come on--...you can afford it! I would surround this place with a more pleasing ambiance and even though you are moving to a new location--again----I rest my case--- You need ambiance! Some pleasing art and such would work for me!More

I tried The Vegetable Bar recently for a juice smoothie and was not disappointed. Everything was clean. The location overlooked the river so it was relaxing and pretty. The smoothie was mixed as I watched from fresh fruits and vegetables. Everything was very good.

I had a chicken pot pie that was seasoned with a cacophony of mismatched ingredients, and my tea and coffee (even liberally dowsed with sugar) was non drinkable. Too bad as the service was great.More

Wendell, We are sorry you did not enjoy our food. I'm not sure what you mean by "chicken pot pie that was seasoned with a cacophony of mismatched ingredients." We have been selling the same recipe for 2 years and continue to sell more than...More
