I am a local and when I'm not craving anything I come here. There is such a variety of arepas. Personally I love the Moliendo cafe Arepa with beef steak. The carne con papa is enormous and its a meal for a buck fifty. The empanadas are also delicious. Oh! ask for colombian cheese bread, it goes nicely with their... More

I love to eat here. Clean, nutritious food, well prepared. Simple, friendly atmosphere and usually packed by locals and tourists, young traveling college students and families alike. great Colombian coffee....order it "cafe tinto", even if you usually order milk in your coffee, you will be pleasantly surprised.

My wife and I ate here a few times during our stay in Cuenca. The food is plentiful and tasty. Unbelievable amount for a few dollars. Friendly and helpful staff!

My boyfriend and I have already eaten there three times in our four days in Cuenca - and we would want to come back. Cheap, local quality food and super nice staff. A waiter switched the plantains on our plates for potatoes on our second night there since he noticed we'd left them the day before!

Great food. Can't beat their $2.50 Almuerzo. Lots of expats eat here and say they haven't gotten sick, so we felt comfortable dining here with our children. The cafe con leche was great too!

There are lots of great places to eat in Cuenca, but Moliendo is one of the places to go if you want to be in touch with the Cuenca expat scene. The food is outstanding and you can get a filling meal for $4.00. The server I always have had REALLY likes his job and likes people in general.

This is the place if you want good food that is prepared quickly and is inexpensive. It is small and popular, so getting a seat during normal lunch time is a problem. Get there before 12:30 or after 2:00.

They have a fabulous 'merienda', including soup, juice, beans, rice, salad, maduros and choice of meat for $3.50. The food was fast, tasty and inexpensive. The arepas were very good as well and they offer a variety of flavorful toppings for them.
