It's one of the culinary gems of this lovely town. We never miss it each time we visit Cuenca. I'm not a steak person, but boy, none of theirs disappoint!!! Pair it with a Cab or Malbec and its heaven. The service is excellent. Reserve your table.

Climb the stairs from the street to this beautifully-designed apace. The waitress will take excellent care of you. And the food will delight you. We went for the Las Monjas almuerzo. We had a choice of three freshly-made juices and three entrees. The juices were delicious, so was the day's soup. And our entrees were great as well. Dessert did... More

Great upscale setting and great almuerzos (lunches) for $4 and change. The food is delicious and you can taste the quality of ingredients. The juices are fresh and not watered down like many places (the rich flavors of the juices are worth the lunch itself). I suggest you try the lunch here if you have not already. I have yet... More

I had been wanting to try Las Monjas for a while. Everything I had read indicated that it was a good, upscale restaurant with neo-Andean food. I went with three other people and the reviews were very mixed. One of my companions couldn't finish the meal. It did not taste good and looked like hash on a plate when it... More

Great service and really good quality for 4,25 USD. I am sure this is the best menu in Cuenca city. Also the place is really nice. You wont regret

We ate dinner ar Las Monjas at a table on the small balcony. The food was excellent, the service timely and friendly and the balcony table was lovely. We will eat here again when we return to Cuenca.

It has been 2 year's since our last visit. This time it was for Lunch and you Cannot beat the $4.25, three to four course meal that is provided. Especially so when you consider the decor and service. We had one delicious lunch and will not wait 2 years this time.

Beautiful restaurant, spotless, nicely decorated, just perfect. Great location a couple of blocks from Calderon Park. Most importantly, the food is excellent for the almuerzos. Staff very professional, pleasant and courteous. We just wish we had discovered the place sooner. We (2 couples) visited on Feb 6th, just before our departure. Monjas (Nuns) is a definite place to go while in... More

We were wandering and suddenly hungry (happens quickly in the high altitude) so just took a chance. Upstairs with a small balcony where we could lunch in the warmth and enjoy the people-watching on the street. Because it was only about 1:00, we had the place to ourselves with a wonderful waiter. The menu was really one of the best... More

What a beautiful restaurant! Excellent food. My husband and I were there for their lunch special at $5 each. The food was delicious and our waiter was very nice and polite. Please go to Las Monjas and enjoy their food.
