I had never heard of this restaurant before and the neighborhood is not that great, so I almost had second thoughts about entering. Fortunately I went in, the food is very good, easily the best restaurant in the city.

It is our pleasure to receive such positive comments, we are always innovating but we do not lose the quality of our dishes and the kind attention that characterizes us. We hope you come back soon. Thanks for your time.

I'm Peruvian so my expectations were perhaps too high. The food was not bad but for me it was expensive for the size of the portions and the food could have been better IMHO.

I love peruvian food but there are better places not that expensive and with a better ambiance and options

We just wanted something small, and stumbled across this place. The interior looks really high class, but still cozy and the staff is really attentive. All we wanted was a small Ceviche. Well... it wasn’t small, it looked really nice and tasted like heaven. The...classic as well as the one with shrimp and octopus were more than we could manage to eat. I’m not a fish lover, but this just turned me around! My husband has eaten his way around the world and has had many ceviches, but he said this was the best ever! We really liked as well that we had a small lecture of Peruvian chillies given to us at our table after the meal. This made it real special. Thank you so much for making our stay in Quito even more perfect!More

I was really stressed out because of (supposedly losing my passport, which I found right after coming back from here. Is that a sign I should eat here every day? Lol2x). I decided to check out this restaurant after reading some really good reviews and...am VERY glad I did!!!! I've tried Peruvian food in Lima and can say Mar y Luna food in Quito is just as GREAT!!!! I really like the atmosphere here. The colors are really really deep, with an incredible richness to them. Perfect color combinations. Antonio Velasgus ( I hope I got that right, the writing was hard for me to read) my waiter (masero), was very patient and attentive with every question I had. He even brought out some of the ingredients on a platter to show me of the awesome tasting Peruvian drink called chicha morada, which is largely made from a variant of purple corn, cinnamon pineapple, corn, clove and sugar. You really should try it, it tastes wonderful😀. Also he showed me some of the ingredients to the really good tasting salsa you can use with the ceviche meal. Everyone in this restaurant was super nice and welcoming, making the atmosphere very relaxed. They even allowed me to play the baby grand piano (only because I know how to play reasonably well and no one else was there. Don't expect that though, there's a sign on it saying not to). I feel very privileged to have the opportunity to touch the instrument of a great musician who plays every Thursday and Sunday ( I think) by the name of Juan Castro Ortiz. I googled his name on You Tube and got to listen to him at the restaurant and it is very nice, professional low key music (with the exception of some horn instruments). I just might buy his cd for $15.00 if I have the time to go back. I must mention the restaurant is super clean as well. In conclusion, due to the very welcoming atmosphere, the great tasting food for a reasonable price, cleanliness and great service, I would recommend EVERYONE to go and eat here!!! It's literally two minutes away from La Casa de la Gringa bed & breakfast, also a very nice place to stay at (can be found on booking.com to those living outside of Ecuador). It's worth a taxi ride to this restaurant in my opinion. In fact I think you're missing out on a lot if you don't eat here when in Quito. They deserve ten stars. Thanks for reading. The host graciously explained about different Peruvian foods. The meal was outstanding, a bit pricey, but worth it.

Great service and really good food, I might even say it is the best peruvian food around Quito. Las titme I had the house specialty, a dish created by the owners (no more details! it will be a pleasant surprise!), just ask for it if...you like seafood.More
