So so food, slow but friendly service and prices higher than other restaurants that were nicer. It's open on Sunday's though so good in a pinch.

Achiote offers an interesting variety of Ecuadorian specialities and is vegetarian friendly. The space is open and modern, service is good. It's a nice place to spend an evening.

Great food! Chocolate rice is a must - whatever you think it might taste like, it tastes better! And if try out $2 almuerzo in the old town then will get a good idea of the high end Ecuadorian food and what most folks eat in the country.

We came on a Sunday for lunch - most places in the Mariscal area were empty at 2PM, and so was Achiote. But they seated us and treated us fabulously, it seemed they even opened the place for us. Even put up the projector so my husband could watch the Euro soccer game, as no surprise that be else was... More

We stopped in for lunch today because we were in the neighborhood. We didn't really know what to expect but it was well reviewed on TripAdvisor and none of the other local places seemed to have good reviews, so it was a no-brainer. My wife had the shrimp in coconut sauce and I had the grilled chicken. Both include a... More

A nice place to try Ecuadorian food. Me and my girlfriend decided to try ecuadorian food in Quito. Our choice was this restaurant as it was close to our Hostel. The food was so tasty. They offer a menu with various dishes to choose from. Great place to try ecuadorian food !

Took a cab here from the Hilton at 9p as we were told it was unsafe to walk the 1/2 mile. The place had one other party perhaps because it was low tourist season. I tried aguadiente for the first time and loved it. The appetizers and main courses were excellent.

We selected Achiote due to the other reviews we saw on Trip Advisor. It was our first day in Ecuador, and we wanted to eat something authentic. We ordered an empanadas to share as an appetizer, and the pulled pork as our entree. Our waiter, Kevin brought us some Yucca along with some house sauces. The spicy sauce was amazing.... More

My mom and i decided to try Ecuadorian food , so we went to this restaurant. Staff is so friendly , the service is fast. The place is central located in New Town in Quito. We try Locro de Papa, that was so delicious. The prices are very good for a fancy restaurant. Try Ecuadorian food at Achiote!

Thank Sarah F
