Liked the restaurant so much went there twice in a week. Mama Clorinda serves traditional Ecuadorean food which is utterly delicious. Our group thought the soups, shrimp ceviche, grilled trout, sea bass and steak were superb. We all steered clear of guinea pig, a local delicacy, which is included in the menu. The restaurant is so popular, hungry queues formed... More

We told our guide that we were looking for a restaurant w Traditional Ecuadorian food. Mama Clorinda was recommended. The food was very good. Our waiter was so helpful and helped us pick out a few dishes. He was also letting us know to be careful about our first night at altitude in Quito.

What a find! Fantastic traditional Ecuadorian food! The Locro de Papas( potato soup with avocado and toasted corn) was one of my favorite dishes I had in Ecuador and the one at Mama's was great!! We also had the Llapingachos(Ecuadordian potato cakes). All pictured here. Excellent food near Foch square and fairly priced. Definitely recommend it.

I had a meal here recently, as recommended by the hotel I was staying in. The food I got (sea bass) was of a good standard, though the portion was a bit on the small side. However, the service wasn't great, the prices were on the high side and the Wifi wasn't working.

We enjoyed a delicious traditional meal here with excellent service. It is perhaps a bit more expensive / targeted towards tourists but remains very reasonable and definitely recommended for a clean restaurant with nice atmosphere, good location and great food!

We stopped here by accident but it was very good and relaxing. It is not expensive and we appeared to be the only tourists.

Had reservations at Achiote but couldn't find so we ended up at Mama's. Surprisingly the food was good but service lacked. For 2 appetizers, 2 mains, a bottle of inexpensive wine was $ 79 without tip. For starters, I had ceviche mixto which was good. My wife ordered the potato soup and thoroughly enjoyed it. For mains, we ordered 2... More

They've been in business since 1980 and their experience in bringing out the best of Ecuadorian cuisine really steps forward. Their menu offers a diversified sampling of all of the best of Ecuadorian dishes to include a regional speciality that must not be missed, Cuy. Step out of your comfort zone and try it! We experienced prompt courteous service, what... More

This was our first restaurant experience in Quito. We chose it for proximity to our accommodation and had limited other options for a late lunch at 4pm. The restaurant was clean and the waitress attentive (2 other tables had locals dining). The food was quite bland, but this may just be Ecadorian food. We ordered potato soup (tasty and buttery),... The staff recommended this place just a short walk from La Casa Sol B&B. Traditional Ecuadorian food (even Guinea Pig) but you can find something more American on the menu too if that's what you need. Good food and friendly staff!

Ecuadorian cuisine restaurant just off Plaza Foch serves tasty national specialties . Try the llapingachos (fried pancakes of mashed potatoes with cheese) with steak or, for the adventurous, cuy (guinea pig). Mama Clorinda's as the place to have traditional Ecuadorian food.
