My husband and I went for dinner. The Ceviche Imperial was on the bland side. It was definitely not one of the better ceviches that we've had in Santiago. My husband got the filet of Conger with mashed potatoes. He said it was good and well cooked. I got the seafood stew. It was ok. Nothing fantastic. I guess it... More

I visited on a Tuesday without a reservation and was able to get a table immediately, though our waiter told us that is usually difficult to do if you visit during the weekend. From start to finish, the attention of the waitstaff was impeccable -- we always had bread and pebre on the table, and even though our dishes took... More

We had the jardin de marisco, which was an awesomely arranged platter with all of the different offerings of seafood. Then I had the El Ancla special, it was kind of like the Chupe de Mariscos from Peru, but a little differently flavored. Had all sorts of seafood, plus potato and the cheese was delicious.

The restaurant is located in the core of Providencia. They offer a wide variety of seafood from Chile and also meat options. It is not very cheap but the quality worths the price. I liked calamari very much. The service is good and I recommend it for business lunches.

We started with a Pisco Sour which was very good, nice strong flavorful drink. The bread that came with the meal was very good. We went with a couple seafood dishes, Parmesan Scallops and El Ancla Clay pot, both were excellent. The scallops were better then excellent, great taste and texture. We had a salad to go along with the... More

Perfect place perfect food and good price. They have everything. Ceviche was great. Also seafood pots. You need to come at least twice to get a feel. Which I did!

The 1st dinner we had a very good ceviche, great loco empanadas and a competent soup dish (caldillo de congrio). After this meal we felt the restaurant had more to offer. And after considering the menu for a day we went back decided to crack it. It isn't the traditional start+main and their signature dishes that would worth ones visit... More

Wonderful meal close to our hotel -- even though we came in without reservations and ate in the bar area. Pisco sours (of course), 3 generous appetizers filled the 3 of us up, with each of us getting something different and sharing tastes. Accommodating of our poor and limited Spanish -- and they take credit cards so didn't have to... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at El Ancla! The servers were very accommodating, trying to help us understand the menu with our non-existent Spanish. We had a delicious meal. The only complaint would be that all of our food - appetizers and mains - arrived at the same time. The portions are generous and if we were to go again,... More
