Delicious fresh typically local sandwiches made to order in classic surroundings. Still dreaming of my Italiano!

I paid a ridiculous amount of money for a "Completo Italiano" one of the simplest snacks with the lowest quality of ingredients. The only reason why they charge so much money is because they are in a very busy area but is bull****.
Don't go!

This place is a traditional Chilean sandwich place. It keeps traditions and flavors. It’s good. But if you want to innovate or have a better experience go to La Yunta.

My wife and I ate here on a recommendation from a local we met on the plane. It did not disappoint. Fair warning, if you're on diet or watching your cholesterol, you may want to customize your order which comes standard with about 1/4 cup of mayo and a 1/4 cup of avocado, nicely seasoned with salt. Add to that the bun, tomato, cheese (which we left off) and meat, and you have a monster, delicious sandwich. The ordering process can be a little overwhelming, and seating is a free for all, so be prepared to watch, listen and learn. But definitely try it.

The cab driver (airport to hotel) recommended this place, and he was so right.
This is basically a cafeteria. Simple and cheap. I had a Lomita, a pulled pork HUGE sandwith with a smear of Mayo and a smear of Avacado. I sat at a u-shaped bar where very attentive waitresses took super care of the customers. I speak virtually no Spanish but was able to communicate with a little pointing and a helpful person in the next seat. The Lomita was a great sandwich, the pork was thinly sliced and tasty.
I really enjoyed my sandwich. It was really a very enjoyable experience. We Americans can sometimes do better by talking less and listening and observing more.
Would definitely add Fuente Alemana on a short-list of must eat at places in Santiago.

This local favourite is worth a visit. Yes, the portions are huge and it can be very busy, but it appears to be an institution in Santiago. It was recommended to us by a local and it did not disappoint. It is an experience, not just a meal. It does have a complicated ordering system, and if you are non Spanish speaking, you may need to seek someone out who can assist you. Enjoy!

Simply amazing. The place is very simple, mainly used by the locals (the place is always crowded). The sandwich is worth eating. I suggest the pork "completo" and a chopp. Do not forget to give a tip directly to the waitress (IMPORTANT).

This is a classic “sandwicherĂa” that has kept its recipe for years. The sandwiches are famous for its size and taste. Mayonnaise is the key ingredient. Try the churrasco, the rumano or the pork. No tables only bar. Do never ask for ketchup!! Only 2 blocks from Metro P. Valdivia. You won’t regret.

We had lunch because this was close to our hotel and had some positive reviews. The place was VERY busy on a weekday at 2pm. I ordered a Romano (Italian-style beef cooked with cheese, lettuce, tomato, avocado, and mayo). This sandwich is will raise your LDL but is tasty. It's more like a hamburger than a sandwich (this American's perspective). You need to be hungry. I paid 8,500 clp plus another 1500 for a soda.

Perfect spot to eat after a long day. Can sit at the counters or grab a booth. Sandwiches and burgers are very good and filling. Was recommended to me and I am glad that I went. I also, highly recommend it.

Traditional Chilean sandwiches - they are huge and delicious and cant go wrong with any of them!
Barros lucos - churrasco - lomito, with a nice cold beer.
It’s not a place to linger - food comes out fast and it’s busy but totally worth it and plenty of places to stroll around in the neighborhood afterwards :)

If you want to try or eat again a typical Chilean sandwich and don't want to risk disappointments, this is the place. The service is fast and offers good quality, but during business lunch time and just after work quite full. It is not a place to sit for very long, yet a good starting point to move satisfied to other areas.
