Solo visit in end-April 2019. CHPE Librè was where I had my first-ever Pisco Sour, on a visit with friends in April 2017, and I was instantly hooked. We had the best evening of our 2-week South America trip, although details of the latter part...of that evening are still a little fuzzy  We sat in the patio outside, ate fresh ceviche and tasty empanadas, drank amazing Pisco Sours, and were looked after like royalty by Mario and the other staff members. I obviously visited CHPE Librè on my next trip to Chile in April 2019 and, since this was a solo visit, I sat at the bar inside. An English menu is available, and the friendly staff speak decent English. The extensive drinks menu features 60 Chilean and 30 Peruvian Piscos, and has a section explaining the history of the drink. The food menu is pretty substantial as well, covering ceviche and cold starters, sharing platters, sanguches (in marraqueta bread), sautéed, mains and desserts. The restaurant has a fun, buzzy vibe, great food and drinks, and the service is excellent. Both visits to CHPE Libre are among the highlights of the respective South America trips, and the restaurant is on my ABSOLUTELY must-do in Santiago de Chile list. I wholeheartedly recommend CHPE Libre.More

I would highly recommend to visit this place. Nice food, friendly environment and great service. The best bartender we had in Chile, Luis, he will make you very happy with a great pisco sour and his charisma. I learn a lot about pisco from him.

The atmosphere and overall vibe of this restaurant was amazing from the start. The drinks were great, and the staff were all excellent about offering opinions and in their descriptions of the different options. They were all very accommodating, and made for a great time...to enjoy a delicious drink.More

The food is pretty good. I had ceviche (get the piure on the side, you may or may not like it if you haven't had it) and grilled octopus. Everything was fresh and of good quality. The cocktails weren't bad either. Staff know decent amount...of english.More

Lunch today was fantastic, last day in Chile before heading to Peru and back home. We got the recommendation over here, Tripadvisor. It's the first time we tried Pisco, they're specilists, you know? This will be an interesting competition with Peru that is named the...origin of pisco. Food was good, meat with fries and salad for both of us. But the piscos are strong, I had one with lemon and another one with coffee, they have everything!More

Here you can try many varieties of Pisco from Chile and it is well worth it! And, if you like, you can dine here as well. Go!

Welcome to the Independent Republic of Pisco! Best Pisco Sours ever, plus 2+ pages of different Piscos. Their ceviches are also fantastic! Highly recommended!

Nicolas was a very well informed waiter and was able to translate perfectly for us. He was able to give us great recommendations for what to eat and drink. He also helped us with getting around town and gave great advice for how to get...around the city. As for the restaurant, we had empanadas, beef, and the Senator sandwich. All of which were made to perfection. Definitely a good time if you’re looking to experience Pisco!More

This is welcoming and cool place. We sat in the back under a palm tree. Our waiter was friendly and efficient and everyone’s English was excellent. I chose a lip smacking Pisco sour and ceviche. I was advised to go for a slightly hotter version...and this was just right: chunky pieces of local fish and a good tang.More

Yes, definitely. We sat at the bar every time we went. The bartender was really friendly and happy to engage in conversation. Also got chatting to a lady travelling solo. This is probably one of the best bars for a solo... More

Old and established and popular - so handling a table for 10 would not seem like a big deal even if you reach them on the day. Good luck.
