Felt a bit off the main tourist radar. Visited with our guide - very welcoming host - v limited English- but was an English menu. Had excellent grilled salmon with mountain of chips! Could have had rice. Wine good by the glass.

Not sure what others are complaining about here. When we went, we were the only tourists in the place -- all others were clearly local Chileans. We started out with a free pisco sour, which was a heck of a lot better than the pisco's...we had elsewhere in South America. The food came, and was quite good. The prices were also a LOT lower than in the other (very touristy high priced) restaurants in the area -- they were a gauntlet we had to run in order to reach this place.More

This restaurant was recommended by our guide from Tours 4 Tips as being good food, not touristy and much cheaper than the other restaurants in the fish market. We went when our morning walking tour finished. What a mistake. Almost everyone in the restaurant was...a tourist, it was very overpriced and the kindest thing I can say about the food is it was average. But no, really it was just bland, bad food. Disappointed that it was recommended by Tours 4 Tips. Avoid if you can.More

The deep fried reineta and the tio willy-special were excellent! The waitress was very nice and the atmosphere was ok.

We were shown a table upstairs which had no atmosphere. The staff in fairness were very good but regrettably the food was grim.

Visiting the Mercado Central is a fun thing to do in Santiago. The restaurants in the market all try to get you to eat at their establishment. So unless you have a place in mind, it is very difficult to choose based on looks or...menus. We wound up asking a tour guide for a recommendation and he said "Tio Willy". We were not disappointed. Food was good and fresh. It appeared we were the only tourists in the place. We enjoyed a delicious shrimp and cheese empanada, a dish of fried calamari and a dish of seafood & pork paella.More

So the restaurants in the Mercado are aggressive and all want you to eat at their place. We decided to try this place because it had decent reviews. Our waiter was great & poured us a few shots LOL. They had cold beers. calamari was...fantastic. We had cooked seafood in a garlic sauce and ceviche as well. Pricy but it’s touristy and to be expected.More

We were happy with this recommendation. It did seem expensive, but we enjoyed our dishes, and the free pisco sours. Given the girth of restaurants to choose from at Central Market, and some of the bad reviews of other establishments, this place is a safe...bet.More

Don’t bother - just don’t bother. Unclean, sticky floors, sweaty waiter, really bad food. Don’t waste your time and money.

This is a good restaurant, small tables, good service and the food is very good Be careful since there are only two restaurant chains but this is a third one and once we checked in trip-advisor, we are very grateful that we saw tio willy...with a good score We had a very nice lunch and reasonable costMore
