The restaurant has its own website where you can make a reservation online. And do make a reservation before you go! The restaurant fills up quickly. The staff are friendly and thoughtful--we ordered dessert at the beginning, but the waiter came up and see if we needed to cancel the order since the appetizer and main course were already too... I came with high expectations and was astonished by this restaurant... Haven't met anything like this before... Great and unique food, perfect atmosphere and delightful staff. It's a must.

My wife and I dined here over the lunch hour as they had little to no reservations remaining for dinner. Well worth the experience! We had just returned from a 17-day foodie cruise and still the food at Peumayen Ancestral Food was something new and interesting. I personally would only dine here once a year as the palate is so... This is a truly unique place and an amazing cultural experience. The research behind the food is impressive. The owner and chef traveled Chile to retrieve long forgotten ancestral recipes and ingredients. They studied the history and anthropology of the pre-colonial culinary cultures. The food is not only very interesting and original but in a sense very contemporary, both in... More

To begin with, my girlfriend is vegetarian. But she loved the food. The waiters speak 3 languages (Spanish, Portuguese and English) very well and are prepared to explaind all the dishes in any language. The ambient is cosy and elegant, but there is no need for fancy clothes. It is all about the food and history. It`s a place to... More

I booked a table after reading the fantastic reviews, but other than the interesting concept of ancestral foods and a beautiful setting, the meal was a disappointment. I was served a set of starters that seemed more boring than what I saw other guests being served. My main course, the lamb, was a huge portion that was very heavy and... More

Nice setting and relaxing atmosphere in this pretty exotic restaurant that offers dishes elaborated as a result of some historical research. I had a delicious smoked fish and some typical breads - all really good. Recommended.

We had dinner here as a recommendation from a friend. The ambiance was unique and inviting. My wife has Celiac and they were able to accommodate her no problem. I tried the appetizer that had horse meat and it was really good! The bread plate was full of interesting tastes and entrees were excellent. I highly recommend!

This place is classy. Great decor, friendly service and awesome food with impeccable presentation. Good wine list and not too expensive. Too many wonderful foods to talk about as they bring you little tastes between every course. The bread course has specialities from the north to south of Chile. The starters are shareable and you get to try all of... More

This is a one of a kind restaurant in Santiago. The menu offers several authentic experiences to choose from. Excellent service and presentations of the food, also in English. Vegetarian friendly. Don't miss!
