Its simple, they toast their coffee and have great service. You can also buy some of their coffee to have something similar at home.
Warning: the expresso is so good you will not like any other one anymore.

This is a lovely coffee shop which has great coffee and good hot chocolate using real chocolate. You can tell that their staff are professionally trained. It is a bit expensive, but so is everything in Santiago. It would be great to be able to take a re-usable cup and get a discount. Oh, and it is closed on weekends, which is disappointing but understandable because of where it is located.

I lived in Seattle for 10 years surrounded by artesanal coffee shops so when I arrived in Stgo I was looking for something similar. These guys roast their own beans and send their baristas to foreign countries to learn more about how to make great coffee. These guys are devoted to exceptional coffee. I go to this coffee shop almost every day and I highly recommend it. Give it a try!

This is definitely the best coffee in Santiago. Very similar to a good australian coffee, very tasty and with a good presentation. They are expensive, especially for chilean standards, but it's the only way you'll drink a real coffee ;-)

Dans coffee is a roaster and coffee shop. The staff are very knowledgable and obviously take pride in what they serve. This is definitely one of the best coffee shops in Santiago. Tip for Australian travellers ask for a cappuccino with a double shot as they do not put choc on top and it's close to a flat white (or latte in a cup). We also tried one of their pour overs on a single origin which was within "cup of excellence" grade at 88.4. Ignore the granny cups. It's what's inside that counts.

After a quite a few mornings with disappointing coffee or *gasp* nescafe, we finally stumbled upon Dans Coffee. The coffee was delicious , perfect and prepared with care and the staff was friendly and engaging. We felt completely impressed with our espresso and Americano and would recommend popping in here for the perfect coffee anytime you are in the area.
