The hawker is a favored as a weekend breakfast place for us where we have food before grocery shopping at the connected wet market. There's a wide selection of wallet friendly and delicous local dishes and drinks here. The most famous stall is the sarawak...koro mee where you always can see a long queue from afar. The price is slighty higher for a hawker food but the generous amount of ingredients they give justify for the price you pay for the bowl of noodle. It's not located near the train station so you'll need to take a bus if you are not staying anywhere nearby.More

Suggest you park in the carpark opposite the shopping / food area as the nearest carpark directly next to the hawker centre seem so crowded with few lots. There is a wide variety of stalls. My friend told me the carrot cake stalls facing out...(instead of the 2 facing in) more recommended. True enough the 2 carrot cake stalls finished early and I only managed to get a packet of black carrot cake at 1pm as the stall was out of white carrot cake by then! I queued up more than 30 minutes for the Sarawak kolo mee which is at the corner stall facing in. (Thought the queue would mean the food would be good). Ordered a kolo mee set which came with char siew, wanton, pork ribs $5 and a shrimp dumpling mee $4. After trying them, I honestly don't think it was worth the long queue. Nothing spectacular in terms of taste. Tried the fish cake at the Tiong Bahru fishball stall and the pieces are highly recommended. Fresh and succulent. There is a stall selling keropok crackers and macadamia, cashew nuts and old school biscuits from your childhood etc next to the Sarawak kolo mee stall which is worth exploring if you like titbits. Will be back to try out the other stalls.More

Today is the 1st day of opening after 2 months of renovation works to the whole Round Market. Was in queue for approximately 25 minutes. Ordered a bowl of dry kuay teow mee mixed pork noodles, and a soup one too. Definitely worth the time...waiting in queue.More

Honestly, I had pretty high expectations after reading the rather raving reviews of this place. Many recommended the Chai Chee Pork Porridge, Lor Mee, and Sarawak Noodle, which were my orders. The porridge was decent. They were generous with the ingredients and on a Monday...morning, I had to wait about 10 minutes for it. I suspect the meatballs were handmade and they were good. The Sarawak Noodles was the one I was looking forward to. At $5 for the cheapest option now (apparently used to be $4), it is not exactly considered a cheap hawker food. The fanfare turned into a disappointment for me. The noodles were soggy, and the char siew were tough and dry. However, the braised pork ribs were extremely good. It was tender, full of flavour, and melts in your mouth. All in all, it does not taste anywhere near the original kolo mee. The Lor Mee was just disappointing. Definitely subjective and boils down to personal preference, but the lor was too watery and lacked flavour. The Min Jiang Kueh from stall #01-19, 137 Market Pancake, was really good. For the three flavours we ordered (peanut, red bean, and coconut), the flavorings were extremely generous. They were very soft and the peanut flavour tasted sweeter than what I am used to.More

This place closes early and by night there usually isn't any stall that is open. There is a lot of local Singaporean options available. Chicken Rice, Hokkien Mee, and a lot of other local food options are available. However, do take note of construction that...is ongoing. This may be somewhat frustrating for patrons. Do not order the putu mayam. They take from a factory and do not even bother to steam or even just heat it up a little. Just take it straight out from the factory plastic bag, dumped onto plate and served. It was cold and...disgusting.More

This is a one-stop shop for good hawker food & fresh produce. On weekdays mornings is best as weekends are crowded. For noodles, Sarawak Kolo Mee stall is our favorite. Many different varieties from stewed beef, chicken feet to mushrooms noodles to choose from. We...like their signature name-sake item best of all; has well-Roasted char siew & stewed meat topped with wonton & a decent chilli sauce! Check out the Nasi Lemak stall, it’s another winner. Like the Ikan Bilis variety the best..crispy & spicy power! The fried carrot cake is also pretty popular & long queues too at the economic Beehoon stalls. You will be spoilt for choice!More

I have been patronizing this stall for years and I love the consistency of their fried carrot cake (both black or white). This is a trusted stall for me to get my regular fried carrot cake fixes. Within the Tampines round market food centre, you...will find two Xiong Ji Fried Carrot Cake stalls. One is managed by an old couple while the other is managed by their son. For those of you who are unfamiliar with this dish, it is basically steam radish rice cake before it is pan fried with eggs and lightly salted (white version) or pan fried with eggs in sweeten dark soy sauce (black version). I like the black version because the sugar in the soya sauce gives a caramelised flavour. White version is equally popular. Price: S$3.50 per plate.More

The best time to visit this hawker centre is during breakfast and lunch time. Malay food include the popular Nasi Padang. The stall selling Indian food has Putu Mayam which is not easy to find these days. Chinese food include porridge, fried kwey teow, fried...carrot cake, bak chor mee, fried fish ball and fish cake, kwey chup, lor mee, wonton mee, kolo mee, mee chiang kueh and a desserts stall that opens for lunch only. This stall sells tau suan, red/green bean soup, pulot hitam, etc.More
