Don't let the title put you off, the food is worth it and the service is that bad you will laugh. If you speak Chinese you are probably fine, but if not be prepared to be ignored and given a good dose of spite and resentment (exactly how my wife cooks). That said you will eventually get served and the... More

Most Chinese restaurants in Singapore serve cuisine from the south of China and usually modified to southeast Asian tastes. This place serves relatively authentic north-east Chinese cuisine, although admittedly not as spicy was you would find in mainland China itself. They've recently rebranded themselves "Tall Girl Cuisine" on some of their signage (owing to the height of the owner who... More

Everything ordered was delicious and very authentic tasting. Oxtail noodle soup was tasty and the few pieces of oxtail were meaty but not mushy. The pork "pizza pie" was hot and greasy, but ain't complaining. We knew what we were getting into ordering something fried. The xiao long bao dumplings had a thicker skin than I prefer but the filling... More

We have been going to dong bei for almost 7 years since coming to Singapore. Our favorite dish is the fish meat boiled in chili soup. You should also try their dumpling. The restaurant staff are friendly. Not sure if they understand English. But it is a hole in the wall place. Some people may say it is not Shi-Chuan... More

This small dumpling\Chinese restaurant is by far the best one I have ever eaten at. There are only around 10 tables that give you a feeling of an intimate feeling, although you are not sitting in a private booth. The food is very good and a you have a great variety of dishes to choose from. The small Chinese pizza... More

Allow me to say that I love dong bei style chinese cuisine and as far as chinese comfort food goes, there is no better choice in my world. As such I have been on the constant lookout for such a restaurant in Singapore for many years on end. Practically all the places I've been to in singapore have fallen short... More

Excellent value for money. Very tasty food. The fare was simple but well delivered. You also get to have mutton / lamb which is not that popular in Chinese restaurants. The dumplings were very nice and come a close second to Din Tai Fung. The ambience is also OK. the servers are a bit restricted on the use of the... More

Walking distance from the Grand Mercure Roxy is a very tasty dumpling house with reasonable prices. They do not fall all over themselves to accommodate the service expectations of "Ang Mo" but the service is proper for Chinese. They even managed to spirit up a fork and spoon for this Ang Mo. I'd go back.
