There was a time when this was an exceptional padang , maybe due to high cost and too much rave reviews and returning customers (cause we are all habitual and stick to the same restaurant for namesake ) , First thing i noticed was the...Rice which binds all the flavours sauces and curries together is now low grade dry (probably broken grain ) and not fluffy . The rendang is tough and tasted like it was not thaw properly when cooked (not fresh) , the gravy us awful which is probably there to musk the rice , the long beans is probably dried up (not fresh veg) when cooked for the sayur tahur , and top it all his the very high price for padang . I will give this place a miss and try the many other padangs next time , sometimes change is good cause you never know there is some genuine delicious padang out there . Overall overrated and standard dropped .More

The beef rendang is consistently tough now, the beef liver is a once-in-a-lifetime experience (meaning you'd never ask for it again), the jackfruit curry is still a treat but frankly, we return for one thing and one thing alone, the ayam korma. Sure, they're banking...on their new found popularity. Good for them although I'm sure the regulars aren't too happy about the constant price hikes. We're one of them i reckon but hey, sod the sourpuss at the register, grab your ayam korma, enjoy it and steer clear of the rest of the grub.More

Friendly staff, rendang was nice, fried fish with sambal was dry and tough, bergedil was very salty, beansprouts and cabbage was undercooked. With a coke zero bill was $12.30.

I'm one of the secret admirers of this place. As part of my work, I come frequently to the area and even plan my meetings around lunch, which I never fail to come by and indulge in the richness and flavour of their food. Without...fail, I will always order the Sambal Goreng (stir fry long beans with tofu), a meat dish, and an overly generous request of their chili sauce (see picture). Their chili sauce is the BEST thing. Pariaman like its nearby restaurants have been around for more than 50 years, some even close to 100 years. You must visit the area and try their food!More

Ordered 1 piece of beef, 1 piece mutton and the sambal goreng tahu tempe and this costs me $10.06! Super expensive and not like its fantastic. Only the white rice is fluffy and worth the 2 stars. Definitely Not coming back again.

Each time I visited Singapore this would be my favourite restaurant for nasi padang. It has the original taste and very tasty, delicious and has variety of dishes to choose from. The service is quick too, and the lime juice is to die for

The new venue is just across the street from the old one, it's cleaner brighter n better presented... Taste wise I would prefer the old venue, still it didn't disappoint... The ayam korma is still rich, rumpah frangrant, chicken soft n tasty, egg sambal OK...but I prefer if the samal were to be tumis, the sayuar lodeh is tad mushy, tau fu with tempe well done. French beans chop fine suitable for old folks and kids... Price wise it's now a bit higher than at the old place, still reasonable, best time to visit is just before noon for the best choices..More

First time tried this Stall, ordered fish head curry, Potato ball (Begedel), Beef rendang, fried been sprouts and was given a sambal. All food was so bland. Begedel dont taste fresh ( abit sour). The fish head curry was a disastrous. Not enough spices taste....so dilluted and not rich in flavour. Bean Sprouts was overcooked, it was soft not fresh and crunchy (plain looking dish). It so overrated but yet was so dissappointed with everything.. wont be going there again.More

The best Rendang! Not as much variety as Hjh Maimunah but a lot more tastier home style cooking. Malay food at it’s best!

Went there for lunch and there was a big number of customers eating compared to other nearby eateries. I thought the food was ok perhaps slightly above average. I do wish that they would offer a bigger variety of dishes. I was disappointed with the...lack of Choice. This place is very walkable from Bugis MRT, although it does take a while: perhaps 10-15 min.More

We decided to eat here since we were near Arab St. Food was good, the Fried Chicken, Fried Veggies, Fired Fish, Sotong were great. Tofu, Towgay, Brinjal with Sambal was ok. service was ok, we sat down stairs and it was crowded. Two sodas and...a coffee and food came to about $44 or 3 pax. If you want food from Sumatra, then this is it, although there is another place that serves similar food which is good too. Will try next couple of weeks time.More
