We only go to this bakery whenever we are in the Tiong Bahru neighborhood. Their quality of pastries and beverages never disappoint, hence, the higher prices is warranted. This cafe is conveniently located and coupled with the quaint atmosphere, it's a must visit when you have visitors in town.

Well this is an over rated place with dissapointinv service by the staff - especially the guy who won't even bother making eye contact or explaining a bit about any vegetarian options they have - which they don't except one small sandwich priced at $8.5. They won't make me a fresh bagel with veggies inside. So i don't understand on... More

We had the lemon tart, pain au raisin and flat white. For me they were just average. always full of people and expats. Not sure if i will go again.

We were a little disappointed with the quality of service and coffee. The bakery was not that busy but we watched the waitress walk around for 5 min trying to find us, it's not that big a place. When we got our coffee it was burnt not being a whinger but at $6 a cup and I am a barista... More

This place is located in the very nice Tiong Bahru area, with nice trendy shops, bars and restaurants. The Bakery has a wide range of breads and pastries and very friendly staff. But what we truly enjoyed was the great coffee.

You need to go to the original Tiong Bahru Bakery in Tiong Bahru to experience the coolest atmosphere. It is great with the low raise buidings and a more local crowd than on Orchard Road. The food is good and value for money. I have tried the Quiche Lorraine many times. The coffee is also good and worth trying. They... More

We dropped in after breakfast at the TB market (hawker food was kinda disappointing) as we didn't feel satisfied. This is a very happening bakery (maybe cos it was a Sat lunch time?) crowded, and people waiting to be seated. The place is small (it would be nice and cosy if there weren't such a crowd) but the wait staff... More

Went to grab a bread and ended buying two. It was around 15:00 but it was full and needed to wait for 10min to get in. The main bread with some meet inside was already sold out (what!?) and got the prossiuto mozzarella and also a sausage hotdog instead. Both very good, a bit too salty the mozzarella but it... More

Perhaps one of the best examples of Singapore's dearth of mid-range eateries. TB Bakery isn't bad, but it doesn't, by any means, deserve the density of carb hungry patrons that fill its seats. The bread is ok, if over-priced and the coffee is decent (and even more over-priced), but as I said, where else can you spend a lazy Saturday... More

Staying in Tiong Bahru

Neighborhood Profile
Tiong Bahru
Home to both local families and transient expats, Tiong Bahru is a fascinating mix of tradition and youthful creativity. Its status as a conservation area ensures that this little hub has charm and heritage on display at every corner, while the 1930s art deco architecture provides a glimpse of days gone by. Stock up on fresh tropical fruits at the wet market, browse high quality literature and children’s books, shop for interesting gifts and local fashion, or munch on bargain-priced hawker food as the aroma of frying noodles and fresh-brewed coffee wafts through the air. Cap your day with a massage and a latte, a glass of wine, or a pain au chocolat from one of the many busy bakeries. An afternoon in this vibrant and beautiful neighborhood is not to be missed.
