I must disclose that I am not an expert on Indian food, but this was one of the best meals I'd had in a long time. Granted, my friend and I were quite hungry by the time we made it to Little India, but the "vegetarian" sign at Ananda Bhavan, in addition to its front and center location, lured us... More

We visited for lunch. Choices on the menu are quite good. Place is like any average eating joint. But, if you are craving for Indian food, it's a good option. Authentic Indian Taste. Don expect much on presentation, service, etc.

An Indian food cafe in Singapore, vegetarian. Excited to have some Indian snacks there, got some. Dosa, gol guppa, vada etc and some Indian sweets. The cafe is too crowded and very little space. You have to stand and wait for a table. Not clean and suffocating due to the open kitchen. Very unhygienic, especially the wash basin area. The... More

We bravely ventured into the restaurant on a Sunday, and managed to grab a seat. I had the Rava Thosai and my wife had the Masala Thosai. Crispy and mouth-wateringly delicious! Topped off with a masala tea, it hit the spot.. We out did ourselves by getting the Samosa Chad which was lovely too!Service was as fast as they could... More

We stopped in Singapore for a night (to break up a flight), and discovered this great little Indian vegetarian cafe. Fabulous food, curries served on a banana leaf, and at a good price.

Clean, freshly refurbished, with quick, friendly service. Dosai (Thosai) masala for $3.60 or Nth Indian Thali for $9, tasty and great value. Worth every cent. Parking is a bit hard. Get a cab or walk.

Staying in Little India

Neighborhood Profile
Little India
With a strong local Indian community, this pocket of Singapore can feel like another place and time. Wander past traditional barbershops while local residents in brightly colored saris patronize retailers from decades past. Peruse streets lined with colorful shops as the aroma of curry tempts you to indulge. Listen to the Bollywood music echoing from storefronts and take in the stalls selling bright flowers, fabrics, and spices. At the 24-hour, four-level Mustafa Shopping Center, you can shop through the night and find everything from pharmacy and grocery items to Bollywood DVDs and diamond necklaces. Singapore’s Little India offers a colorful, lively taste of the subcontinent and is well worth the visit.
