Go, drink a Singapore sling, and leave, That's what the tourists will do. But stay, throw peanut shells on the floor, have a Collins or another drink (or two), even eat something. Then you might get a feel for what this location may have been like in its prime.

If you are visiting the Bar & Billiard Room and decide not to have a Singapore Sling then do not under any circumstances order a glass of red wine. Not only is the choice of wine very limited but the serving size borders on the ridiculous! I doubt if there was 75ml in the glass and for $24 it was... More

Ok, I won't judge a book by its cover but I was very disappointed by our visit to this hotel. We only called in for the famous Singapore Sling. Quite frankly the one on our ship was far better. Over priced by far - the Long Bar was closed so we went to the Billiard Room to sit outside at... More

I have visited this Hotel in the past for a Singapore Sling and loved it! I took my partner today and the whole experience was spoiled by long queues and too many people!!! The long bar was closed for renovations which probably exacerbated the situation!

Unfortunately the great Long Bar is closed for a year meaning you have to resort to this second class bar instead. The staff are quite rude and unprofessional, not giving you any time to look at the menu and as soon as you have the last sip a bill will be thrust in your face and others sat at your... More

Given it was our first visit to Singapore, having a Singapore Sling at Long Bar was right at the top of our list of priorities. Unfortunately, there was construction going on at the hotel, which made for a less than favourable atmosphere. Furthermore, I can't begin to articulate how disappointing the Singapore Sling was. Having traveled the world, I am... More

We wanted to visit the Raffles and have a Singapore Sling so we threw our credit limit to the wind and did Sunday Brunch. The Staff were excellent, our table cleared and cleaned constantly and our glasses always filled. The food was sublime. Highlights were the lobsters, king prawns, all the different meats (excellent pork). Even the mashed potato was... More

We visited the gorgeous Raffles Hotel on our first day of a Singapore holiday. I was aware of the history of the hotel and was anxious to show my partner how lovely it was. We visited the Courtyard and Long Bar but were a bit put off by the high prices of drinks, even allowing for the great beauty and... More

Hi Travelling from the uk to meet friends in Asia. Dropped off into Singapore for 2 nights. Cmas day and 26th. Booked for the family to grab Cmas day brunch in the billiard room. The offer looked amazing. Reading through the menu for food... well who would not be disappointed? Food in parts was marvellous. In others of average. Highlights....... More

We had a spectacular brunch here. Food selection was quite diverse, and nicely prepared and presented. We had a little bit of perhaps almost everything. I tend to work around the edges, first. Notable are the tenderloin and lamb chops, fois gras shooters brought around to tables, and the baked scallops. Although seemingly innocuous, the mashed potatoes to accompany the... More

Description
Once a billiard hall, Bar & Billiard Room is today a bar that offers some 400 hand-selected whiskies, with many limited editions and labels imported just for this establishment. Among them include ones from Scotland, Japan and the US. Lending its influence to the cocktail menu, the single malts have also gone on to inspire whisky-based beverages. On Fridays and Saturdays, live jazz performances offer a touch of old world glamour to the setting. Come Sunday, the champagne is popped and becomes an invaluable addition to the buffet brunch. Expect a spread featuring fresh seafood, cold cuts and signature carving favourites. Regarded as the oldest existing bar in its original location in Singapore, Bar & Billiard Room is an institution within Raffles Singapore. It occupies a standalone building built in 1896, and was the first in the country to have a lady bartender stirring up a storm in the 1920s. Inside, chandeliers hang down from the high ceiling and the floor tiles are replicas of the original. One of the five original billiard tables from the turn of the century can be found there, where guests are welcomed to play a round or two. Picture windows look out to the surrounding thick foliage, interrupted by elegant cast-iron frames that compose the terrace.
