The food is just amazing. Absolutely delicious. We have been there twice and all was excellent. The interior is beautiful!
We had the most incredible meal here! We went for the sharing platter as we couldn't decide what to have. It was 795 peso and we got a huge amount of food! The fish roles in coconut sauce was an absolute stand out! I just...can't rate this restaurant highly enough, everything from the food to the service to the atmosphere and decor was perfect.More
An experience we will never forget..this bahay kubo themed resto in Puerto Princesa truly enhances the Filipino dining culture. With a touchy art and homey ambience, and sumptouos seafood that will fill your tummy,it's definitely worth it. What adds to the vibe is the barefeet...experience... Step in and leave your shoes outside and dig in.More
The place is nice, looks real good, but they have very big rats running on the walls to the roof just above people. After we’ve seen this we could not appreciate any more the food. When I communicate this fact to our waitress he told...us to speak with the manager not looking surprised or being interested in the subject. Overall, even without the rats the place is overrated, investing more in the look of the local versus quality of services.More
We just arrived in Puerto Princesa from a long haul flight. We made a reservation ahead of time to avoid any inconvenience. The interior and vibe of the restaurant is nice and beautiful, its kind of alfresco dining. However, it was too dim/dark for me....I couldn't see clearly the plating and colors of the food. Anyway, we ordered the special set meal for two. The fish roll with coconut cream was surprisingly delicious, it was boneless fish, crispy, savoury, and creamy. The prawns was just an average and the tuna steak too. They served the food a little bit cold. It wasn't that great. But overall experience was good, food, service, and the value was worth the try. Always support local!More
We came to Ka Lui because they supposedly stocked Palaweno (microbrewery) craft beer. They did not!!!! Not wanting to 'chase' somewhere that stocked craft beer, we decided to stay - they had 'bums on seats' always a good sign for us. The structure is a...series of rambling 'huts', but is clean and well organised. The wait staff attending us was efficient and quietly friendly. Our order came quickly and we were delighted at the relatively simple presentation, the good taste and the balance of flavours. We enjoyed deep fried reef fish with a light salad and plain rice. We accompanied that with fruit drinks (really nice). The price was very reasonable. Given that Puerto Princessa doesn't have a good reputation for dinner options, we would recommend Ka Lui. Our dissatisfaction at not having craft beer (though on the menu) nor other western drink options (eg. Gin & Tonic) results ina 3 instead of a 4.More
Really good food. Nice staff and lovely atmosphere. Worth every penny. Had the tuna steak and squid. Amazing!
We had dinner at Kalui due to high ratings and recommendations online. Didn’t start off great as they didn’t have any fresh prawns, crab or lobster ... so had the prawn skewers and tuna steak .... both were ok, but the soup and dessert they...give as extras tasted like they were free. Best course was the seafood starter in batter, which was nice. Overall a fairly average dining experience in a nice venue that promised so much more. Want to give 3.5 stars but can’t and think 3 stars is a bit harsh.More
I can’t see what the hype is about this place... yes, the setting is very nice, and the fruit juices, especially the mango papaya juice were amazing! (The highlight of our visit!) Apart from that, the food was served to us cold, the squid I...ordered was chewy and tasteless (apart from a weird Teriaky sauce which in my opinion doesn’t match well at all with this dish). Service was poor, our waiter seemed like he had a bad day and did not smile once or offer anything else than one word answers, very unhelpful. The truth is, we forced ourselves to eat half of our tasteless cold dishes but ended up leaving to have dinner at another restaurant. Conclusion: Come in to have a juice before going for dinner somewhere else. PS. No wifiMore
