From the moment you step foot in this restaurant, you'll feel that you enter a rich cultural place. Honestly it's hard to describe it with words. My family and I came here for dinner to celebrate my son 18th birthday. The dining room, the service, the music just simply divine. You don't come here only for the food, but you... More

The house where this restaurant is located, and which started operations in 1968, is very beautiful and interesting. The service is outstanding. We were a big group with a set menu and the way the food was presented and served was very nice, and the food--a huge selection of small dishes--was delicious. The dance show and the musicians dressed in... More

Oasis Restaurant located at Jl. Raden Salah in centre of Jakarta City. If you would like to invite foreign visitor to taste the authentic Indonesian Food with high quality, this is the best place. Although the price is not cheap, but the ambiance and the atmosphere surrounding will bring you back to the old colonial time. During the weekend, sometimes... More

Even though at times you might feel a bit uncomfortable and in the spotlight, it's still very recommended: you've got to see this once in a lifetime. Food is delicious, but I wouldn't say it blew off the roof. However the way HOW it was brought to us, with all that sequence and the show, and then the guys playing... More

The ristafel has all the merits of traditional Dutch colonial lifestyle with beautiful young ladies serving each course individually, it hard to keep your mind on the cuisine and remember why you came!

I visited this restaurant once for lunch so my experience is limited. However, the food was very tasty (I had a prawn dish and beef sate) and the restaurant was decorated with many tasteful antiques; it is one of those restaurants where one wants to take a lot of pictures. I suspect the dinner is more elaborate and perhaps a... More

The place is located a little bit off the center in a rather residential area. Upon entering, traditional (I believe Balinese) music is played and quite noisy. In the reception hall it becomes clear who was here already as they are proud to diplay photos of Angela Merkel and President SBY and several other state heads patronizing the place. They... More

The restaurant is classic and antique, the food is delicious but we have to wait a bit longer. We ordered soto betawi, asem iga , nasi liwet and nasi tegal. Delicious. We really enjoyed the food and place. If you come to the raden saleh area, you should visit this restaurant...

I have a weakness for places whose colonial past is all too evident. In Jakarta last week, I had a choice between Cafe Batavia and Oasis. The former is probably one of the best-looking bar and restaurant of the world, the latter too is beautiful, but less so. I choce Oasis because I had never eaten the Rijsttafel ever since... More

Classic restaurant located in a beautiful Dutch colonial era mansion built in 1928. The staff is proud of this facility and if you ask nicely they may show you around the mansion. As you enter, a gong is sounded and you are greeted with traditional Indonesian music on instruments that you would usually see in a Gamelan ensemble during a... More
