We had dinner here the first night we were in indonesia. The place is very nice on the inside. Very spacious and well decorated. The food is served and presented very very nice! The price of the food is not cheap, but for western rates is was more than OK. We payed 20 euro per person for food with starters... More

Serving traditional Indonesian foods with good decoration. Most expats will be impressed when they dine in this place. However for local people the price is more to medium to expensive. Good food though

Nice mystical restaurant. Lovely if you want a little spook! Part of tugu group and I would recommend the tugu kuntskring instead being nicer architecture wise! However I went to both and both were amazing. Only the food could be served warmer- slightly cold when served. Not superb but 7/10 for Food.

Lara Djonggrang is an upmarket Indonesian restaurant in Jakarta's Menteng district. It is fairly unassuming from the outside with its red exterior mostly hidden from the street by trees. Inside it is elegant and fairly classy with a decent menu. It is not the cheapest but offers reasonable if not exceptional food. The name Lara Djonggrang refers to a Javanese... More

Gourmet Indonesian meal? Here's the place... the atmosphere might be rather eerie but the food is simply gourmet traditional Indonesian.. with some twists. My favourite would be udang swarloka...delicious shrimp balls with sweet chilli sauce and their corn fritter (they call it juwawut jagung)... might sound ordinary but it is something special.. try the sweet satay as well it's sweet,... In terms of the positive, the restaurant itself is lovely and the atmosphere is nice and tranquil, with gamelan playing in the background. However, it is ultimately style over substance since the food does not match the price. I started with the watermelon, lime, and mint drink. It was just okay, not bad. For a starter I went with the... More
